Title: Guzzi Sighting in SW Ohio
Post by: et18 on October 21, 2017, 01:47:23 PM
Aside from the local Guzzi shop (Cadre's) and MC events, I believe I saw my first MG on the road since buying mine in April:  A V7 Anniversario in Lebanon, OH.  I was two up on my 1400 Touring coming into the south side of town, the V7 was heading out of town towards the local twisties.   Beautiful bike with it's brown leather seat and chrome tank shining like justice.  Anyone here?

I am in SW Ohio and other than the bikes at Cadre I have only seen one other actually on the road and it was a California. I have a V7 but it is a Stone.

I am in SE Ohio.  I never see a Guzzi on the roads.  Neither do anyone else based on a the questions I get, such as "Moto Guzzi, who makes those?"  But today I saw two on a ride to Portsmouth.  One was in an old car dealership, you can see it though the window.  It is missing a tank and is surrounded by a lot of cars in various states of repair.  But then the real surprise.  Portsmouth has  a large flood wall filled with murals, probably 20 x 40 feet in size.  One shows the Portsmouth Motorcycle club.  My son, who was riding a Triumph pointed out that in addition to the Harley's and Indian there was a Triumph but no Guzzi.  We missed the obvious, look at the second largest bike, front left, on the wall.... http://www.ohiorivertourism.org/murals43.jpg.

Suddenly I feel the need to visit Portsmouth and get a picture of my bike in front of that mural.  I ride SR41 down to Maysville at least once per year, maybe next time I'll bear a little to the left and go to Portsmouth instead.

Tasdisr, if you're that close then we'll have to pass each other sooner or later and we'll both have our next MG sighting.  I can be found on the roads around Caesar's Creek / Orgonia almost every weekend.

Damn! You're right, I thought the seat & grab rail looked a little UJM-ish.  Whatever, CX500s were still cool bikes.

Ty, every month I intend to make the breakfast ride and every month I miss it.  What's that old saying about good intentions?

The next one will be 11/4?  The weather forecast for the 4th is 36 degrees in the morning and raining so it will probably be warm and sunny.  Hoping to make the next one, even if it's in the car.

Rain or shine there will be at least one Guzzi there on the 4th at 9am.

I recommend the Germantown, OH Guzzi breakfast. KJ's has very good classic country breakfast food and the town is close to some nice riding. All in all a very good time.

i was at "fuel coffee" on the east side of cincinnati this morning. in addition to my california, there was a v7, 2 norges and a v9 pulled in. that qualifies as a lot of guzzis in one place.

Five MGs randomly in one spot?  Where is this?

I will be out running errands on Saturday and have to head up to the Middletown area, I think I am going to try to stop by if I can get moving early enough. What time do you meet there?

On another thread, "SW OH Guzzi breakfast. First Saturday of the month. "  has the particulars. We usually hang around til 1030 and maybe go for a ride.
