Looking like The Astros are in , come on boys , make my late buddy Rick happy .
Oh , some team from Los Angeles is already in
Dusty
-
I'm happy for you. It's a blast to make it. My Yanks, however, did not. UGH.
Been to two series in NY. SO much fun!
-
Yankees gave a good run. I lost a bet with a couple of Astros fans and owe them the best Buffalo wings sauce I can find. Any suggestions from my WNY soon-to-be neighbors? We'll be moving up next month.
-
had the family over last night.
After having a near cardiac experience watching OUr football team, my brother and half the guys were going for the Yanks while my bro-in-law lead the group going for 'stros.
I was decidedly neutral, leaning in the "don't care" (Cards fan) category.
Luckily the MotoGP race was on right after and that was helluva show.
-
Come on , surely we have some baseball fans here . How about this , the Dodgers should go back to Brooklyn where they belong  Go 'Stros :thumb:
Dusty
-
Heartbroken at the collapse of the Cubs. Failing that, was hoping for Yankees vs Dodgers to make my Dad happy at age 95. He grew up in Brooklyn and still hates the Yankees with every cell in his heart and brain.
He can learn to hate the Astros.
-
The Astros have been my faves for years. Not too many teams have won both the American and National League pennant. I'm hoping they fare better than in their last WS appearance. Go Astros!
-
103 F at game time in L.A. Great rendition of the anthem , first pitch hit for a home run .
Dusty
-
Was hoping to see the Cubs or the Dodgers thrash the Yankees. Was a bit disappointed when the Astros won the pennant.
Have somewhat of a preference for the Dodgers for the sake of being a NL team.
So far the game is decent though not exceptional.
Edit: Well that didn't take too long. Trolley Dodgers over the Astros.
-
As a Giants fan I'm rooting for Houston.
-
More of an LA Kings fan than Dodger fan, but must root for the home team.
My late dad, big Dodger fan, did not like the Giants at all.
-
There's always Yankee haters. We get it and we're ok with it. Figure you're just jealous! Ha ha
Let's hope it's the classic it has the potential to be. Like any championship event, even if it's not your favorite thing-if you get a chance, just go. It may be even more enjoyable if you have no dog in the fight-but either way these events are really unique and the atmosphere is most likely unlike anything else. Been to NFL championship games, World Series, Stanly Cup, and MLS championship games. Nothing like it.
Nic in NC, let us know when you relocate to the frozen north. We have a great Guzzi rally every year two weeks after Memorial Day.

Buffalo Wing Sauce
1 stick of butter
1/3 cup of Frank's Hot sauce
1 Tbl Worcestershire sauce
1 Tbl crushed garlic
1 tbl kosher salt
Heat ingredients and combine, add more Franks if you want it hotter.

Yep. That's the standard recipe but you'll get a LOT of argument here in WNY about Frank's, which most think is not real hot sauce.
-
BTW-the best wings here served in a country mile are at The Bar Bill tavern in East Aurora.
YMMV, but it'd be wrong!
-
Is there such a thing as a good chicken wing ?
Dusty

Am looking for Justin Verlander to even the series tonight. Should be another low scoring game like last nights 3-1 but with Houston getting the win this time.

If the Dodgers win tonight it's over.
Yeah, would be pretty much a foregone conclusion.
Still since I don't have much of a favorite in the Series I hope it goes as long as possible. Don't need one team to end it early.
-
If the Dodgers win tonight it's over.
The Red Sox came back from 0-3 to the Yankees to win the ALCS a few years back , and then win the WS, like Yogi said "It ain't over till it's over" . As the Yankees just learned , this Astros team is a tough out . They won 101 games in the better league .
Dusty

I hope you're right. Go Astros.

As a Giants fan I'm rooting for Houston.
Also a Giants fan - c'mon Astros!
-
Verlander is on tonight . The Astros can win with just a couple of runs .
Dusty

I remember in '86, when the Red Sox were an out away from winning it all in game 6 and..............

If you stopped watching after the Dodgers went up 3-1 , the Astros are now up 5-3 after back to back dingers in extra innings .

Puig played in OKC last year.

Good game..... lot of home runs. Houston needed that win.

Only 'saw' on GameDay but what a game

Houston's offense finally woke up . This is going to be a great WS .

Checked ticket prices a couple nights ago. About $1150 each seat for el cheapo seats. Wife and I will pass.
I've been to game 7 of the NBA finals last two times the Lakers beat the Celtics in game sevens. Took my dad to the one in the 80's, took my sone to the last one. My dad took me to a super bowl in the 1970's. Don't think we ever went to a World Series. Looking forward to the Los Angeles Oympics in 2028. I went to several events in the last LA Olympics.
-
I have never been in a professional sports facility.
-
Wow, what a game! Got a little boring in the middle innings but definitely picked up in the eighth inning. I am definitely hoping to see more hard fought games like this.
I expected Verlander to hold the Dodgers back but it was 3-1 against Houston when he checked out. Astros bats made the difference.
I still expect the series to go to the Dodgers in six games.
-
Looks like this will be an interesting series. Go Astros!
-
Here we go fellas , Houston up by one early .
Dusty

Now up by three... Funny how I now like Altuve and the rest of those crazy Astros. lol
I am now relegated to exclaim "Maybe next year" for the Red Sox... :(
Oh well, this series is awesome. :thumb:
rad...
-
There was one of those plays that occur every WS that can decide a game and the series .
Dusty
-
Go Astros!!!
-
Astros had some great defense to go with their hot bats, last night. Hopefully, they’ll continue to enjoy playing at home. Houston strong!

I think it's a little unfair the Dodgers have the son of Bigfoot

sure won't be Gillette!

Wonder if I'll get to see the whole game tonight. Game 2, 8th inning, a big storm rolls in and I loose satellite reception. Last night, Top of the ninth and we mysteriously loose power. I swear I never said a disparaging word about the "Bambino" :)
-
We have a grinder going tonight . Defense and pitching in the spotlight :thumb:

Don't think that is gonna happen tonight .
Bregman just flashed some leather , wow !

Geo. Springer goes yard to finally put a score on the board for Houston. Dodgers will have to respond now.
Edit: ...and it's back even at one all.

Wonder if Hammy can hit a curve ball ?
If Keuchel can't find the strike zone the Astros are in trouble . Their closer is toast .
Dusty
-
Looks like Keuchel did find the strike zone and LA jumped on it. 2-0 LA already!!!!
...and now 3-0 LA
-
This home plate umpire is very entertaining :thumb: Come on Astros , Kershaw is only human also, although at times he looks almost perfect .
Dusty
-
Keuchel to the showers. Couldn't hold the Dodgers. Will see what Gregerson can do.
-
We are at a tipping point right now . 2 on , 1 out , Correa just doubled for an RBI , one more single changes the entire game .
Dusty
-
Just like that , tie game :thumb:
Dusty
-
Well that comeback didn't take long!!!
Kershaw looks like he is fading.
-
Wow! Volatile game!!!! 3run HR!

OH MY !
Dusty
Correction . OH MY OH MY OH MY OH MY !
-
Wow ................. these games are FANtastic !!!!
-
Yeah, if baseball was actually like this series people might watch it. :whip2:
-
Holy canolli!
-
Keeps up like this it might require Smoltz to come out of the press box and pitch for both teams  What a great game and series this has been , two heavyweights who won't go down no matter how many body blows they absorb
Dusty
-
I can't take much more .
Dusty
-
Now the Dodgers erase a 3 run deficit. Even up again halfway thru the 9th!
-
Finally , 5 hrs and 17 minutes , but the Astros win . I am worn smooth out .
Dusty

Dusty

Wow! A game for the ages. I’ve seen some thrilling ball games in my day, but that one takes the cake. Way to go, Astros!
-

Dusty
No antenna, no TV, no Fox (no politics intended).

I watched it on the radio.

Here we go .
Dusty
-
Come on Dodgers! At least stretch it out till tomorrow night!!!
-
We know from Sunday that no lead is safe so...

Dodgers force a game seven!!!!!
We will see you tomorrow night and may the best team win!!!! :thumb:

Dodgers get home field advantage for game 7!
-
Very cool. First ever WS game 7 at Dodger Stadium.
-
Houston is being aggressive .
Dusty
-
And I hope they stay that way...!
Gonna be a game Man.
-
Have followed Darvish since he came up with the Rangers , feel sorry for him right now , he is a classy guy . This isn't all his fault .
Oh MY ! 5 Zip now . Roberts is doing the humane thing and sending Darvish to the showers .
Dusty
-
Go Astros!!!!! Springer is having a great Series.
-
Wow, takes Kerrshaw to keep Houston to a goose egg for the inning.
Now will the Dodgers big bats show up.
If it keeps going like this I am going to bed early.

Dusty

Great, great series.
Congratulations Astros.
Good run Dodgers.

A long time coming, but right on time for a city rocked by natural disaster. I lived in Houston in ‘86, a year that the Astros won the NL West. The city went bonkers. I can’t imagine the great feeling Houston has now...

Ahh , Mike Scott and that split finger fastball . If he could have pitched everyday the 'Stros would have won it all that year . Kind of a shame it turned out he was scuffing the ball , and never pitched the same after .
Dusty
-
I attended the afternoon game when Mike Scott threw that no-hitter to clinch the NL West in '86. Funny detail: he hit the first batter he faced in that game. Nobody in the Dome was even thinking no-no until the eighth!
