My plan exactly! :thumb:
That was a fantastic deal!!!

And people wonder why Guzzi struggles in the US.
-
I remember buying my Daytona here in the UK, around 94
I cannot remember the price, but around 10k springs to mind GBP not USD
6 months later Guzzi dropped the price by around 1.5k
Talk about sick as a sea going parrot

The best "steals" in motorcycling...... a slightly used Guzzi.

I really like that bike. Is there anything for the pillion? I'd need something comfy before I'd even think about asking the wife. Trunk?

Wow, you can get a bat bake for like............5 1/2 jackals.

Now that's funny. Have you contributed to the "owners of multiple bikes of same models" thread?
Seriously, those close-out deals make everybody take a huge hit on resale value too. And it can become self-perpetuating. The savvy buyers will wait for closeouts and not pay "premiums" (aka sticker price).

I had one of the first California 1400 Touring's in white. I had it for a year. I put 15000 miles on it. I crashed it. I paid $18000. I sold it for $11000 with some lingering cosmetic crash damage. YMMV

EBay sales of new bikes at discount prices is not exclusive to Moto Guzzi. I have been tempted by bikes at 40% off. A good deal if you later trade them in on a different brand that didn't know they were discounted when you bought it.
