Title: '93 Daytona gas leak
Post by: Devildog on November 04, 2017, 02:56:26 PM
On the left (low side when on the kickstand) leaking gas collects on the billet piece above the "1992". I don't find fuel any higher up. The three hex head bolts are tight.

Any suggestions? Is the fuel pump allowing fuel to pass thru and seep down, or is there a valve in the fuel injection that is failing, or a gasket problem?
Many thanks,
Bill

Feul leak from a crack in the hose? "1992" means that hose has been on there for 25 years. It's past due for replacement, especially if it's a fuel hose.

That is the bar the throttle bodies are mounted to and they are not through holes to inside. The injectors sit right above it on the inside of both TB's. Could be leaking from hose there, or from rubbers not tight. All those are like the line says 25 or more yrs old.

Thanks Charlie,
I believe that's the breather hose to the sump, I had all the fuel lines replaced when I bought the bike five years ago. But will still look them over carefully.

My tank cracked at the rear where the mounting bracket is welded on. It took me ages to find as it was only a weep and would hide when I looked for it.

Thanks Greenman,
I am heading to a similar conclusion, I found some fuel on the underside of the tank where the fuel elbow threads onto the tank.
