Title: Cleaning air filter
Post by: Ncdan on November 05, 2017, 02:56:23 PM
Anyone clean out their air filter the first go around by tapping it flat side and gently blowing from the inside out? Not that I’m to tight to replace but I’ve been always did it that way because of past teaching.

I’m sure it will be fine.

first Filter change at about 30k+,  no difference in power or gas mileage:

As long as it's just dust, that may/should be fine. If it is oil soaked from the breather system like my EV can do, then replace it.

One time there was enough oil that you could very easily feel the difference in weight of the new filter. and no, it was not dripping, just moist.
