Title: Upgrade your snowplow for the winter, cub cadet, CL, new haven
Post by: chuck peterson on November 06, 2017, 06:23:06 AM
I like where this could be headed...lotsa snow? Bling your mower/snowplow! Endless process improvement during those bleak winter months...

Does the Gravely stuff last forever or does it just seem that way?

They seem to last longer and they're not resold often.  https://www.gravely.com/100years/enthusiasts/

The old walk-behinds (with Gravely built engine) will last virtually forever if cared for. Same basic design from 1936 until 1976, so parts availability is good. I've had my '64 since 1985 - it's mowed a lot of grass, plowed a lot of garden, pushed a lot of snow, cleared a lot of brush and even cut down a few trees along the way. I did a top-end refresh (rings and valves) a few years ago and it's finally starting to break in again.
