Rollerized from the factory ? If yes , it's a good deal ..no ?

Fantastic deal!

If it's a 2013, it's roller from the factory.
Hmmmm - $500 layaway for the winter (or until I can get shipping arranged...)? I may have to do something here, unless I can get one that's actually not on the other side of the continent!

You could knock that distance out before dinner tomorrow. :bike-037:

Or for enough money somebody on the forum will go ride it to you

FWIW the BMW dealer in San Diego has a similar 2013 Griso with 2700 miles for more money... but I'd imagine the price is somewhat negotiable.

2750 miles? I may be an IronButt rider, but that would take a pilot's license...
Now, does Southwest fly into Nashua? Manchester it seems, might be close enough....
I'll have to check what NH regulations for temp transit permits are - Massachusetts doesn't even issue them!

Yeah, I'm keeping an eye on that one and hoping to ride over and look at it sometime soon - or at least before the passes freeze up. I may swing through LA and check one there as well, but I am just a bit early on pulling the trigger yet. The plan was to do something in Q1-18; I still haven't finished farkling the Stelvio!
Well, another couple of weeks and I'll have the flexibility to deal with this. That layaway plan makes this one attractive just because it acts like an insurance policy for a good deal!

Take the $500 layaway price and put it towards shipping the bike to you, probably cheaper than flying out afterwards to get it.

Massachusetts allows a transfer period for the use of a registration from a previous bike to be used for a few days. Generally I just take a plate with me on the plane and attach for the ride home.
And drive carefully!

That bike is perfect. It might be under the factory warranty still? It has GP MC decal on the tail section and they absorbed some other dealer stock that was unsold.
Just call up BMW and tell them it has defective tappets but you will bail them out for $5k!

Used haulbikes for the Stelvio. Took 30 days to get it to me 1500 miles.
-
they may not be the quickest but they are the most professional i have ever used.( shipped 5 bikes with them in the last few years )
and not too expensive either .

Be careful and buyer beware.
A dealer a few hundred miles from me, had a beautiful NOS demo 2013 Griso w Mistral exhaust listed for sale at a very attractive price. I was confident that because it was a 2013 it would have a roller valve train, and would be a nice buy on a road trip.
On a whim and one of the few times, due diligence has kicked in,,, I asked the dealer to pop off a valve cover and send me photos of the rocker assembly,,, sure enough it was NOT a roller top end. Saved myself a lot of grief.

Always good to check, but the evidence is pretty strong that the changeover was in mid to late 2012 pretty much across the board. I wonder if the dealer you mention had thumb-fingered the listing and that it was actually a 2012 he was selling? I would always start by verifying the VIN and model year before doing anything else.
