Title: Indian Street Tracker
Post by: LowRyter on November 11, 2017, 01:17:41 PM
It looks like Indian is coming through with a super Scout.  FTR-1200, 430lb and 100+ HP.

Now this looks like more fun than the V85.  Less weight.  More horsepower.  Probably same price.  More dealers that actually service the bike.  Only downside would be the exhaust cans need a cage to protect any bags IF added.  Personally, I'd use a large tank bag with panniers then maybe a backpack.

Not that big of a deal with an o-ring chain but to "each his own".   :thumb:

At that power and weight, it's starting to get interesting, but they still haven't quite made the 114 HP and 415 lb (wet) specs of the Yamaha FZ-09, and I bet it won't match the 09's price of $9k.

I'll bet it makes more torque though (1130 cc vs 850cc).

I like it!

I'm sure you're right, if you're going by crankshaft torque, but the fz-07 and fz-09 are known for gobs of low end grunt, and wheelies in the first couple gears.  In any case, I do think the new Indian is a big step in the right direction, but I have a feeling the cost will be on the high side.

I've ridden both the FZ-07 and FZ-09, yes both have nice low end, esp. the FZ-09.
And yes, I'm sure the cost of that Indian will be high, but, hopefully not too high.

Indian definitely needs to put that motor in something street legal that isn't a feet-forward cruiser!

You're definitely right about that.
