I believe it was Joe Kenney that was making the machined aluminum flip choke levers. I bought one way back and now I need another. How can I contact Joe or anyone else making these?

I have seen these made out of simple extruded aluminum "U" channel. Carved to shape and drilled for the pin.

That's what I did but don't have access to the right size alum. now. I could use another 1 now for my other Guzzi.

Okay, clue me in. I've got a plastic choke lever on my Dellorto for a '65 Benelli / Riverside 350. Works fine, but I'm always looking for upgrades. What's the attraction for the new lever?

Cam, I still need to understand why I need them. The factory plastic lever works fine. Am I just a troglodyte?

sign, is just the billet bling factor. Aluminum not plastic.

And the plastic ones tend to break off when pulling two cables after considerable use.

The plastic ages and brittles and fractures. The aluminum is permanent (almost). In either case, the back end needs to be machined a few degrees of 'over-center' relief so the lever stands up and stays up until you push it down. The back end of the plastic version tends to wear and the lever won't stay up unless held up by hand. Even the aluminum wears and fails after many years. I've made crude replacements. If Joe has the machinery and programming to push them out efficiently then go to him.

Yeah, that's the need other than if they break off, being able to get them to stay on the choke position if you need that like I do on my Convert., until the motor is warmed up enough to release it. grrr

I think it is great that he put the time into developing this piece, PLEASE no one else start making them. Let the man make a buck.

It look like a simple enough piece that could be made on a hobby mill or with patience, a good rigid drill press
With some patience and a vertical mill bit of the right size.

Joe is a skilled machinist who was ahead of the curve using CNC machines. Decades ago he would show at rallies with a Sherline hobby lathe/mill equiped with stepper motors driven by a computer. He had /has?? a shop of full size machines.
Keep an eye on his ebay items, the levers will show up again.

Back in the 90's old Norm Giltrap showed me how he made choke levers from pieces of 1/4" copper tubing and a dremel tool. He'd split the tubing and open up about 1/2" of it like flaps and then drill and file to fit.
That guy was really creative. The plastic ones were always busted or worn on my bikes, so I made one for each Guzzi I had for years. Norm used to file checkering into the tops of his for better grip!

Why is everyone so determined to run anyone of that is offering parts for Guzzis? Is it that awful that someone make a nickel on a Guzzi part? Why is having aftermarket support such a bad thing?

Why doesnt he see if MG Cycle or Harpers Will pick them up? I'm sure they would sell like hotcakes cause not a lot of people like to buy on ebay. Maybe he just does it as a Hobby? I made mine from .25" acrylic sandwiched between two pieces of .025" aluminun. It was a pain. I for sure would have spent the money had I known about them. He needs to get the word out.
