Title: Any 6ft riders on a Stornello?
Post by: Green1000S on November 28, 2017, 07:02:22 AM
Looking at purchasing a 2016 Stornello and since Im 6 ft (230lbs), I am interested if any riders of my size finds Stornello being a good fit?
All info appreciated, unless your going to say that  I look like a fat circus bear on a scooter

Circus bear on a tricycle? Maybe a little but meh.

Have you sat on a Stornello yet? I think the pegs and seat are a bit different from the Stone/Special, especially since it's built off the V7 II.

That said thicker seat and lower pegs aren't that difficult and can make for big changes if needed.

I've thought about one or the other (probably pegs) just to get a hair different bend to the knees, but it's not critical for me so I haven't done it in 5 years lol).

This is 5' 10" / 225 on a Stone:

I'm a hair under 6 foot.  Ride a V7 Stone.  Added 2 inches to the seat and it's all good.  Bonus is a much better seat to boot.
Easy enough to do.

Ha!  I thought you were talking about the 125s.  I'm 6'1 and 270.  I can still fit on it!

I know of a guy 6'7" who bought a new v7 Classic a few years back. He loved it.

Yes, I am 6' and have a Stornello.  Have a 34 inseam and everything feels perfect from the pegs, seat position, reach to the bars etc.  Very comfortable and a pure joy to ride!

I knew a guy 6'9" who rode a LeMans III who got a 916 Ducati.  I asked him, "how can you do that?"  He said, "I have to adapt."   Back in the `60's I saw guys over 6' road racing 1st generation mini-Cooper cars.   Where there's a will there's a way.

Well you just have to adapt as you say. I have a classic Mini, I'm 187cm/6'2" for you imperials. I do fit although I had to fit sport seats in it to lower the seating position [emoji4] the thing is a hoot to drive!
My T5 is also a bit cramped with the low le mans seat and high agostini foot pegs. You really have to bend up. Seat or pegs will be adjusted at some point.

A tad over 6' and a tad under 300 pounds.  Very happy with my Stornello, now that I did the rear shocks.  Will be more better as soon as I get around to the front.

They brined a lot of the major roads around here today. I think everything in my fleet is now officially in bed for winter.... Except the Sporty.
