Well I have a 2014 Cali Custom and I wanted to compare it to a Stelvio. So my local dealer told me to come down and test ride one of his and see what I thought. So I took him up on that offer. So I showed up they handed me the keys and told me to go out ant get lost ... so I did....LOL.. Wow what a nice bike.. I guess you can say its low tech compared to the GS and Multistradas of today, but nice comfy ride and handles back roads pretty well. Then to top it off they threw me the keys to a V7III stone.. that was a fun bike also. You can throw that thing around in the corners. I thought I would feel awkward on the bike being 6 foot 270... but it was ok.
Now I have a tough decision to make..
trade in Cali for Stelvio
Keep Cali and add a V7
or just keep the Cali.
Ohhhh decisions decisions..

I can tell you from personal experience that the Cali 1400 and Stelvio make nice stable mates.

Based on where you live I would say stay with the cruiser and add the V7.
If you are a motorcycle traveler, then trade for the Stelvio and go on some adventures into WV, and beyond.
A buddy of mine moved up to Ohio with 3 sport bikes and now barely rides because of the lack of curvy roads compared to what we have in Tennessee. He finally put the ZX10R up for sale which to him was admitting that he was going to stay there the rest of his career.

I think thats what I'm leaning towards. I do have a soft spot for my Cali. it would be hard to give her up.

I used to go to Wva a lot and ride all up and down Rt. 60. Now those days are limited... with work and everything getting in the way. I do love my Cali, but I like to ride with my feet underneath me once in a while.. so we will see what happends...

Funny coincidence.
I just drove to Dallas to see the Dead & Co. Dropped my stuff at the motel. Decided to head to the Ducati store. I'll be dang if they didn't let me ride a new SS. They loaned me an Arai helmet and off I went in my short sleve polo and loafers.
I really liked the bike. Light, well balanced, great handling and brakes, and good power. A little notchy finding neutral. Looks awesome too. Definitely would be nice to have it my garage. I think the demo (78 miles), standard suspension and saddle bag package would ring all the bells.

I'll send them some e-mails and see what they want to do. From Dallas I am heading to San Antonio for the rest of the week and then back home. Maybe there's a Duc in my Xmas stocking?

Mirrors what I've heard about the Super Sport as well.

I suffer from MBD (multiple bike disorder) and have 5 at the moment. Some tend to buy variations on the same theme but I find having having 5 vary different bikes (from 200cc up to 1,750) a lot more useful. Dirt roads are different from gravel roads which are different from two lane which is different from the super slab. Any bike can do any of them but that does not mean it's the best tool for the job. My advice: buy the V7. It's a lot lighter, smaller, and quicker handling which will make it more fun on certain roads (back country two lane IMHO) and provide an interesting change of pace. This of course is not I influenced by my recent purchase of a V7iii, much.

Excellent advice. Much like your buddy, I have kept my TLS after moving from socal to SE Michigan despite it resting quietly in the basement gathering dust for some years now. It makes no sense to keep it but i/we aren't always rational creatures.
