Sorry, Dusty.. no pix.. forgot to take my phone. <shrug> Took the Aero Lario out to the airport to pay for the stupid $50.77 inner tube for the airplane. 50s and sunny.. no wind. In Indiana? Gotta ride. Talked to the kid, he said he flew his antique aeroplane a couple of hours. Same wx in Wisconsin. :thumb:

Took the BMW (Aprilia) F800S out for a "close to home" ride to see if my charging system fix will last, ended up riding 80 miles. Temps got up to the low 50s, but after mandatory coffee stop were back in the high 40s as I got home just before sunset. Didn't see another bike on the road, what's wrong with these people?

147 miles on a beatiful 65-degree day...US-75 to OK-20 to OK-11 to OK-99 to US-60 to Osage Hills State Park to Bartlesville to OK-123 to Bigheart to OK-11 to OK-20 to US-75 to mi casa...
The pics are in my mind...
BTW, Osage Hills State Park has a good-sized Group Camping Area, a swimmin' pool, hiking trails, and of course, tennis courts for the jet set...

Took the Ural riding out of my garage in Massachusetts last Wednesday. It was 55F. Saturday it's 8PM and still 55F but there's another thousand on the odometer and the Ural Is parked next to my tent in South Carolina. At this rate I should be in central Florida by Tuesday.
Life is sweet when one is retired.

Good job boys and girls!
:thumb: I might have gotten in 10 miles but it was all woods and all either up a steep hill or back down with loose softball sized rocks everywhere......... ..LOVE IT!
-
Careful John!! Trees have been known to jump out in front of motos..just for fun!!
:-)
I’d worry more about the rocks @ chadwick

Loving this weather. I snuck in a 100 miler yesterday. Wife and I will ride today too. Going to meet an old Air Force buddy that's in town for a bit and have lunch with him and his wife.

When trees and rocks decide to attack

Perdon,
Picture showed more trees than rocks, but rocks are harder usually and can also result in abrupt stops if a collision is involved!
That picture was on a ridgetop, you should see the bottoms. Sex stones EVERYWHERE!

Good turnout @ Toys for Tots!

Well likely the last ride for a while up here in Canuckistan. Rain tomorrow then turning cold for the foreseeable future. Significant snow by the weekend. At least I got 100km on the Breva today in near 50F temps. Retirement is good!!!
Cheers, Tim

Unbelievable. Rode the Aero Lario again today. (4th) A couple of days ago, I was watching the volt meter doing a dance, and wasn't sure what to think of it. Checked the battery today, and it was 12.65. Rode it and the voltmeter was solid in the middle. I *think* what I was seeing the other day was the voltage regulator doing it's voltage regulatin while trying to charge a low battery..
Nasty weather forecast. Probably the last ride in Indiana for a while.. It was good for me, though.

Retirement is good!!!
What exactly is this "retirement " you speak of? I put two new tires on the Bassa before the rally, wasting a combined seven thousand of yet unused tire miles for convenience. Is this what you mean?
It's down to 50F here on the 4th, so I put on the riding pants for my strenuous 25 mile round trip commute to the Quality mines. I feel your sympathy
-
Fiddy?? It was warmer here today. Maybe you should move here to balmy central Indiana?
or not

It's a deal where you quit working and take it easy.
Some people actually start doing it well before they quit getting a paycheck!
I had a dentist appointment today (I hate those; I haven't had one since 2012 that didn't find some problem that needed a new visit to fix!) so I figure I'd make the best of it and ride so I'd get something out of the day.
NO ISSUES FOUND! No fillings to be done, no root canals, no extractions, no bone grafts, no root amputations, no implants, been there, done all that, and it's finally stable. Hopefully they'll last out my time now ...
AND got a nice hundred mile ride in. The bike felt really good; some days you're riding at what feels like a good speed and you look at the speedo and you're going 52. Today, every time I looked at the speedo, it was north of 75 but it wasn't like a speeded up movie ....

Oh, that. Around these parts it's referred to as either wealthy or homeless.
Congrats on the dental report. My dentist calls that " boring " and she is momentarily glad, then kicks you out and say's "bring me an interesting patient". Too bad, too, she's hot.
I know, I love those rides where you look at the speedo and think " How can I be having so much fun at 40 mph ? "

I had one of those once, but couldn't use the "We aren't going to hurt each other, are we?" thing on her ....

Retired is: I'm now in Florida (1,500 miles behind me) and planning my return flight. My Dear Wife says "I thought you were going to ride around there some more". "Why don't you take another week?" And all I have to worry about is finding a laundromat. That's retired.

Luckily for us who aren't "wealthy" (whatever that means; normally it means "anyone what has more money than I do"!) that there other places in the great big ol' USA to retire besides San Diego!
Retired is a lot of fun; 3 years today for me. I'll say again to anyone considering it - don't wait till everything's "perfect" and you've got "enough" to retire; GO! Smart retired people told me that; I was nervous about it but jumped anyhow and it worked. You'll make it, and have a lot of fun doing it .... !
