Nice period piece in the same color as my '76.  If I was in the market this reasonably-priced and essentially unmolested example would be on my short list.

Sorry Rob , I  didn't  see you had already put that one up. Looks like a good deal, wish I had time for it.

No problem... looks like a killer deal.  Hope it sells soon, I have no room for it, well, I could make room I guess.

You were the first one that came to mind when I saw the location. Hell, I don't even want one and if it was local I'd be tempted just so I could pester the lot of you for counsel.

Hey Norm,
How goes...?

I have only ridden a Convert once and it didn't blow wind up my shorts.  A bit like the take off of a 747, lots of rumble at the beginning and then zoom, hang the Hell on...!

Rob

This one is so complete and a great start at a resto...  like I said, I hope it sells soon, to someone else...  :thumb:

Para-phrasing the owner's manual.  "To test acceleration.  Depress foot brake.  Engage hand  brake.  Maximize engine revolutions.  Release foot brake and hand brake."       It does accelerate from a stop faster and there is no lag time between gear shifts.....'cuz there ain't any.

Same paint as my '80 and the back rest/rack.  The Jammer I got with mine is white.  Where's 'da bags?

A Convert with a windjammer is by definition incapable of blowing wind up your shorts -- you have to do mods to make it drafty.  That's part of its personality and what makes it a great 4-season sled.  And like that 747, its slow on the rolloff, but once your get to rotation speed -- which might be today if you get started early enough, the faster it goes, the faster it goes.  And it hauls the freight.  That's the rest of its personality.

This one has all the pieces except maybe the handlebar and mirrors, and the bag rails look home grown.  It's even got the crashbar wind deflectors.  The paint is actually a "champagne" color -- sort of pearl white with a dash of amber.  That one is all pitted out, but it's original.  If you're after a bona-fide "restoration" project, just in terms of completeness and condition it's well worth the asking price.

. .. or shelve the original motor, slap Tex's 1100 Breva engine into it and have the ultimate sleeper.  The 1100 and the mighty 'Vert were made for each other!  Ask me how I know.   :thumb:

WOW! That's worth the price to let it sit on the porch looking like it'll go 1,000,000 miles

If I hadn't just purchased a GL1800, I'd be a bit more than tempted.  No room in the garage and I think the wife would disapprove of getting another bike before I get the Shadow sold.

I e-mailed the seller yesterday.  No response yet.  I'd have it in my garage for a winter project asap if it isn't a total heap.
