:coffee: If I'd ordered a Dart Classic Dark (medium smokey) Tint Flyscreen from the Flyscreens link https://www.dartflyscreens.com/products/marlin-flyscreen?variant=5012055097371 and all would have been well, as it nicely explains the benefits of the Marlin over the Classic. However, I went to the Shop By Bike link https://www.dartflyscreens.com/products/moto-guzzi-v7-flyscreen , then compared it to this link https://www.dartflyscreens.com/products/moto-guzzi-v7-marlin-flyscreen and couldn't see any difference between the two, save the cost.
Admittedly, it is my fault for not seeing the measurements provided, but I'm frustrated by the omitted data. So now I have to order the Marlin and pay the "stupid tax" to ship back the Classic. :cry: :violent1:

I also purchased a Marlin for my V7 III direct from England, it is a bit larger. I found out afterwards that they are available from the US without having to get it from across the pond. A note about fitting it, the top of the bracket hit the instruments, and I discovered that the headlight mounting on the forks can vary quite a bit between bikes. So, moving those fork mounts a bit up or down can eliminate any issues.

It was a textbook installation, mounting perfectly without any adjustments. I'll research again more local providers, but most charge shipping and this was at no charge.

What's your issue here? Too small? Poor fitment?
I'm not being a smart guy. just asking. I've had both and the difference is not huge.

I don't think it will deflect enough wind at freeway speeds (65+ mph) to stop the "bobblehead" effect. I suppose I should just go for a ride, but I'm feeling every inch the ID10T right now. :tongue:

I get it. This may help. I'm a shade under 6 foot tall. Both the Marlin and Classis keep the wind off the chest for me but leave the helmet in clean air. This keeps buffeting and noise to a minimum. I don't think you'll get a penny less from one of these good folks if you go around the block a bit to see if it I fact works for you. Or not. Just sayin. But, both of those screens are good for chest wind protection-it's just a matter of degree, and at my height the degree was on the smallish side.

I use the Classic on my Bonneville and find that it provides an �in the wind� feeling without the need to white-knuckle the handgrips at speed. It is unobtrusive and nice looking, but won�t give you much weather protection (though it covers your jacket�s zipper; a common leak-point). Small enough that it won�t negatively affect your bikes handling, though. I think it is a great addition to the V7...

I'm 5'10" and have used both. I currently have the Marlin as it's a little better for me.
BUT the big difference between the two is there the Marlin seems to funnel the air into a point that MIGHT just be at your face.
So try the one you have before giving up on it.

Just a piece of info, for ME (6' 4"), on my CB1100, the Marlin was a problem. It has a sharper angle than the Classic and directed wind blast right at my helmet. The noise was deafening. Back to the classic and all good. The classic is all I run on all my rigs now.

If you are getting bobblehead effect with no shield at all you have the wrong helmet. I prefer to be in the clean air. Windshields can create buffeting "bobblehead". A flyscreen will take some of the air off your torso so you don't have to lean forward too much, but there is a space where the screen is not low enough or not high enough and your head gets buffeted around.

Gal, you can also try the rear pegs in addition to the screen when facing a nasty headwind. Leans you forward into the blast.

I've been relaxing into the flow, thereby letting it support my weight somewhat, and tilting my head down a touch to improve the bobbing. I've been avoiding the rear pegs due to the lack of quick control access, plus I'm not sure my back would like the sportier position. I will try it out when I'm riding in mild traffic to see how it feels.
I haven't had the chance to ride with the Dart Classic yet, but tomorrow I'll put it to the test as it's our weekly "ride to the movies" night.

I am also 5'-10" as with an inseam of 29.5...so ya, longer upper body
I have classic currently as it hits the wind JUST at the upper portion of my chest....so most of the wind gets to my helm are free flow clean air...neck does get sore a bit during more gusty days
I tried Marlin and they were hitting my shoulder more instead of chest...HOWEVER, the wind also hit my chin just enough to buffer me
so at the end I choose classic over marlin due to the buffering bugs me more.
if they make Marlin another 5cm taller, it would be awesome for me...but I can see it being quite ugly because now so tall now.

Another consideration as you're trying options, & I don't know how much adjustment you have with the Darts, is the angle. We had a Memphis Shades windscreen on the Bassa for awhile, & when I initially installed it they recommended it be parallel with the fork tubes. It was terrible! I tried all kinds of different angles from there, & the best I found was to tip it back to the limits of the adjustment - it "cleaned up" the flow coming off the screen & was MUCH better....

I won't use the rear pegs in traffic, but then again at those speeds there's no need.

:bike-037: I finally took take Anni out, fitted with the Classic flyscreen, and I was impressed. My longest ride was a 70 mile round trip to the MGNOC monthly Sunday breakfast, with 45 of that on the freeway. Previous to that, it was a 28 mile round trip for Motorcycles on Main, and both times I was badly bobbled about. Tonight was all on surface streets, and I could only manage a short sprint to 72 mph, but the difference was clear. Without the screen, my head would start its thing at around 60, and at 65 I would have to tuck down to help my neck. With the screen, I didn't notice it at all when in the 60's, nor the low 70's!
Once again WG has come to the rescue!
