I'll try not to gush too much. This is the first time I've had to try them out since Todd put them on for me a couple of days or so ago.
I wanted a sporty tire, but not a "track" tire for running in the mountains. I'd previously had a set of Shinko Podiums that I didn't much care for. At 3K miles the rear was at the wear bar and the front was cupping on the sides.
So. Conti sez their "traction skin" doesn't need any break in, but I thought I'd run up Las Flores canyon just the same. It has many low speed switchbacks and I thought it would be good for break in.
No need. By the time I'd done a few, I was grinning in my helmet.
Dusty sez we need pitchers..

These are the best tires I've ever had out here. I assume it's the round profile, but they feel the same leaned over as straight up. Effortless transitions..
And I said I wouldn't gush..
Stopped for lunch and had a look. No chicken strips. That's amazing for no better of a rider than I am. :thumb:

I'd recommend them to your attention..

Thanks for that, Chuck, I'm froze in but keeping myself amused in my heated shop putting new seals in my small tractor loader cylinders so I'm happy

Well, that's what Winter is for. If it was nice all the time you never would get those seals installed.

true, true I'm wondering how I'm going to torture the poor old bike if the winter gets too long. last year I put a dual battery setup in the sidecar. maybe I need an extra gas tank and a compressor....

I love my Conti's. I run Trail Attacks on my quota and Road Attack II's on the Daytona.

Great minds and all that. Trail attacks on Darth Qouta were my gateway drug. I put Road attacks on the Mighty Scura, and Classic attacks on the Monza. These are the bestest, though..

That road pictured looks like fun one to test tires on.

Nice quite write up!
I recently just got Conti Road Attack 3 and man I agree with you on how they stick with the road so well.
I road home on highway with some salt and slight wet surface and they grip like mad....got her up to...some questionable speed with great confident and didn't have to worry about the tires having that "almost want to give out feel" as the demon had.
Granted, I didn't want too hard on turns as they were spanking new as well.

My last set was Michelin PR4s and I have to say from the first, the Norge did not like them...always had a vague feeling of "looseness" and were grabby on scored/grooved pavement...went to Conti Road Attack 3s and suddenly I had my sweet, solid-handling bike back just like that...YMMV
I'm thinking of pre-shipping a set of Trail Attacks to Anchorage to slip on when I get there...

There’s something wrong with your bike then Chris , mechanical or aerodynamic...Norge s love PR3 and PR4’s, they are super confidence inspiring tires in wet or dry conditions. No wandering or looseness ever noticed...have you ridden them NOT loaded to the gills with baggage in normal and wet conditions?
The Conti’s do look like an interesting alternative...curio us what is the expected life on them compared to the OR4’s and potentially now the PR5’s someone had mentioned here a few months ago.
