Title: tools
Post by: John A on December 23, 2017, 06:22:37 PM
Found a new place to get tools , prices are good and the Chinese stuff is good quality. fast shipping. I got a quick change tool post for my 10 inch lathe and I'm pleased with it.

Nice link, thank you.  I like it that Harry Epstein's site lists the country of origin for their tools.

Ive been to Harry Epsteins several times, you can spend hours in that place and never see it all. Well worth the trip if your in KC

I found a 1/4" drive socket set for smaller fasteners at ACE Hardware.  On sale $9.99 made in China, Craftsman brand.  The next day, I'm over in Home Depot.  A set made for Husky brand, made in China.  Priced at  $6.99, on sale.  Same amount of sockets in matching sizes.
Both sets have the same perceived quality.  Guess which set I kept?  ACE is a 3 minute walk from my office.

Yeah....the Chinese tools suck.
