Title: Italjet 400cc cafe racer promised (NGC)
Post by: Moto on December 29, 2017, 01:48:09 PM
This is just an update to our long discussion last winter about the Italjet Buccaneer 250i that is sold as an SSR in the U.S. (It's built in China by Longia, but I found evidence that Italjet was involved in the design, along with an independent Italian designer.)

Massimo Tartarini, president of Italjet, interviewed in the Philippines by topgear.com.ph, said in August that he "wants to introduce the Italjet Cafe Racer in 250cc and 400cc variants next year," here:

If Tartarini has found a good-looking 400cc v-twin for his cafe racer, I'll buy one.

I have my doubts that there is such a v-twin out there. He could produce a larger version of the Yamaha clone using the same bottom end, since big-bore kits are available. But I think they may stop at about 325cc.

Every winter I seem to get the same urge to buy an impractical tiddler. Love the Italjet story, too.
