This is a winter project that had been sitting in the woods for well over a year, at least it did have part of a plastic tarp still on it. It is titled as a 1976 Honda CB500T and of course it has been attached by the "Bobber Gremlins" but the price was such I could not walk away. Compression is great and overall I have seens worst jobs of cutting up a motorcycle.
The fun part has been the electrics, a combination of original harness, aftermarket controls, and throw in some homemade wiring with one color and different gauges to make life complete, but damned it didn't have spark. I have spent the last few free evenings and weekend finally getting it sorted out. (There was a mason jar half full of spade and bullet connectors all very poorly installed when finished.) I probably should have just made up a new harness but you ever get into too deep to turn back. The "John Deere Machine" now has had all the connections soldered and heat shrinked, everything works to include the starter which the PO owner stated was never functional. It even has turn signals and a newly installed light switch. Of course this is a flip bike for me and hopefully it will go to a new owner when finally up and running. (Carbs are next, alcolol gas does such a nice job of completely gumming everything up when it is allowed to set. )
The strange thing is I have cursed a time or two during this process, but I have to admit I truly enjoy getting lost in the tangle of wires and fixing one problem at a time. It is enjoyable when you have get these 69 year old synapses all firing at the same time to reach a solution. I am heading back out to the garage this evening to start the carbs, propane heater is going and heading to my happy place.

Agreed. When I built up the MZ from a pile, the switchgear was apart, and the wiring was a mess. It was an enjoyable couple of days getting everything working, making parts, etc.

That Allen Bradley switchgear box is a nice touch, you don't see those very often anymore....

I don't think that is a CB 500 T . Isn't that a GL 500 ?
Still , probably the first one of those I have ever seen that was hardtailed

I thought the GL500 was that guzzi smallblock-looking shaftie.

That's what this example is . The CB 500 T was a nondescript slightly over bored version of the older CB 450 . Not that it matters , unless some halfway knowledgeable LEO or employee of the DMV happens to notice that isn't a vertical twin .

Well, one of us has frostbitten our brain. I'll give even money on whom. The pictures I see in the OP appear to be a hard tailed, chain driven, nondescript slightly over bored version of the older CB 450 . The only way it's not a vertical twin is laid on its side. What you looking at, Watson?

Whew! Glad it was you!
For a moment there I thought I fell on my head harder than I thought I fell on my head harder.

Ab-so-farkin-lute-ly terrifying to me. I walk away....don't touch....zzz....zot ....fuzz....smoke.. ..ruined....not running
Let's just say I'm a water sign and it doesn't go well with electrics..
