We do get people in for concerts that like to be in the middle of the Pacific.

Tom, did you ever watch the Christy TV series? She was in quite a few of those episodes. Great voice, for sure!
-
Missed that. I'll have to see if I can YouTube stuff. Thx.
-
Saw her in concert last year. What a beautiful voice!
-
She does my favorite version of Amazing Grace.

My late mom told me she is allegedly a distant cousin of mine - not sure of the configuration, and it has not resulted in any free concert tickets to date.
-
Been listening to her since the late 60s....
From Sondheim to Stills, from Donovan and Dylan to Copland and Cockburn - and in her own right - one of the great interpreters of song.

She is a tough lady with an angelic voice. Back in the early 70's She was playing at one venue in Boston, Simon and Garfunkle at another. My gal and I chose to see Judi Collins. She was almost 45 minutes late to go on stage and sang for 59 minutes (apparently the legal minimum requirement at the time). She was off key and not in time , missing many lyrics as well. I was a bit aggravated I admit, until I learned later that week that she had been deathly ill but didn't want to disappoint her fans. Her version of Daddy You've Been on My Mind was one of my favorites, singing the first two verses so evenly you felt an aural version of the sunset she sang about.

This is one of my faves https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fA9e-vWjWpw

I've always felt Joan Baez & Judy Collins have the most beautiful female voices. If Joan wasn't so locked on her politics she could have made a lot more $. But apparently that didn't matter to her.
-
I saw Joan Baez in the early seventies, back when she refused to charge more than $2 for a ticket.

Agreed.
Saw her too in the '80's. Amazing that such a powerful voice comes out of such a small package.

My favorite song by Judy is 'Both sides now', written by Joni Mitchell. :thumb:

I have seen her a couple of times. The first time was in 1977. Amazing voice.
-
I've always loved her voice, but she had that affect on many. Stephen Stills pined for her so much he penned two of his best songs in her memory...
