I've seen a lot of superchargers blown off the top of a motor, and crankcases break on dragsters and pullers, but never THAT!
Just imagine the force that would have to be applied in a downward direction to throw that amount of weight that far, AND break the mounts!
Dangerous sport, that. And expensive, too. That's probably a $50,000 event ....

That'll buff out.
Wonder where the heads went?

I wonder if the owner said, "Durn."
-
Showing this to the kids!
-
And I told him not to reuse those torque-to-yield head bolts!
-
You guys crack me up. Thanks for that!

I certainly don't know these machines but one comment on that sight says that what you see IS the heads
and blower.

On a closer look, I think that's right! I'm just not used to the SCALE of those things ..... !

The heads, the turbo, and all associated plumbing. Damn!

I wondered if the driver is alive

Look closer. That isn't the whole engine, the bottom is still in the frame. Split the block in half. Those guys are running above 150# boost now. Nobody knows for sure just how much, maybe not even them.

No substitute for TORQUE !!!
-
"The motor felt perfect, right before it blew up..."

I know; I already said that above.

I wondered if the driver is alive
I wonder if he can still hear.
-
The last voice heard on radio from the Challenger space shuttle was a very distinct, "UH OH!"
I Suppose the truck driver probably said something a bit more obscene. Then still being alive he probably tried to elaborate.
-
That'll buff out.
Now that is funny
