Love the vintage format, but holy smokes! Doesn’t the owner know that all that chrome won’t get him home?

Other than the chrome, a '69 XLCH would be appealing.

What is with the screws in rear rim?Does he think the rim will slip without those?

I really don't dislike Sportsters, but in 1969, they didn't handle, or stop; they vibrated and overheated without having the engine cases chromed, and only went 80 miles on a tank of gas.

My 71 Triumph TR6R came with tire security bolts on the wheels, too. I guess it was intended to preserve inner tube stems from being ripped off by the pavement-rippling 43 rwhp.

"Wont find one like this anytime soon."

That's a fact.  Fortunately.

That's what I was thinking.

At the right price, I'd have that.   I've always liked CH Sportsters as short haul day runners ....

Back in my HD days, I used to have a cool T-shirt from an old independent Harley shop in Tempe, AZ that read:

"CHROME DON'T GET YA HOME!"

But it is kinda cool...in a Bling-Bling-Blingy kinda way!!

That rear rim looks like a recycled Akront dirtbike rim. The screws look identical to a few Bultacos I've had.

A buddy in East Texas who owned a small motorbike shop and resembled a real 1%er had some shirts made that said :"$10,000 , 500 miles , and a chain wallet don't a biker make"

"Drive away condition with NO issues at all."  If you can start it and if the points plate hasn't moved because of the vibrations.

I'd tell the owners of those bikes.  "Hey, I like it but the seat and tires need to be chromed."     It would be fun to watch the wheels turning.

That's to keep the inner tuber from spinning inside the tire.  :boozing: :boozing:
