If you have a spare $47000.
-
Lot of $ for a SB Heron head, fancy pics. Way over priced.
-
"too many custom parts to list", but it's still sporting ugly factory valve covers. $47k and you can't even throw the racer covers on there?!
-
It's all fun and games until you are trying to cross the Oklahoma Panhandle with a 40-mph crosswind...of course, it COULD be one way to get to Kansas QUICKLY...or Nebraska...

:popcorn:looks like a wind-up tin toy motorcycle from the 40’s

Airtech stocks fiberglas dustbin fairings for less than 47k. I've often thought of putting one on my Eldo, just because. There is, however, a reason that dustbins were banned in the late '50s.
-
Why were they banned?

Why were they banned?
For the very reason they don't work on the street , crosswinds really push a dustbin fairing around . Well , and speeds were getting a bit too high for the tires and brakes of that era .

I think Barry is the "one off"!
-
I believe Evan Wilcox made that fairing. ( hand beaten aluminum by Wilcox is not cheap).
I don't know if that fairing is worth $43,000.00 though.
-
There seem to be quite a lot of these around
Here is one not nearly so nice but a "bin" all the same I seen on E-Bay a while back.
The guy wanted funny money but not as much as that guy is asking

How do you take it off for servicing, front tyre change? Do you just bend it off and on?
-
Imagine when it fell off the side stand....
-
Yeah , if ya don't mind going sideways
Dusty
I've never been completely convinced that it would be that bad in a steady crosswind. It would move the center of pressure forward, but as long as you had a good front tire and a steady hand...

Pikipiki, Has anyone seen the other side of that bike? It may be easier taking the fairing off than doing the same on a Daytona. It still scares me when prying that fairing apart, while trying not to scuff anything. Is an 1100 Sport easy? R3~
-
No. DaytonaRS / 1100Sport fairing removal is a bit easier if you turn the forks all the way in one direction and wiggle the fairing off.
