This link is to a new exhibit about Rollie Free at the National Motorcycle Museum in Anamosa, IA...(conveniently on the way to the Wisconsin Moto Guzzi Rally!):

Do NOT click on it if you are offended by motorcycles, motorcycle racing, or half-naked men...

Ya know.. when you think about it.. Rollie was batshit crazy to do that.
Well done.. :thumb:

Rollie, wasn't he an Indiana guy? Indian rider that hated Harleys.
I can't think of any motorcycle more valuable than that Vincent Black Lightning, in deference to the Guzzi V8.

Every time I see that picture I wonder how he didn't develop the dreaded speed wobble. The front is completely unloaded.

Minnetonka moccasins well known for their aerodynamic properties !
Paul B :boozing:

I didn’t know there was a national motorcycle museum. Anyone been there? Worth seeing?

Very well done displays. It's about one hour south of the IA Rally. Combine the two for a great weekend! :thumb:

The last time I was there, they even had Guzzis.
-
If you are going there and have other VTwins you ride get your list together cause JP Cycle is around there too.
If you haven't been to the museum I would put it on your list.

Rollie Free was not only batshit crazy, he was batshit fast.
Well he wasn't that crazy, he did wear a helmet.
I tried his riding position and got my R 26 BMW up to 120 KPH.
That is one royal hair less than 75 mph!
I was half assed fast as Rollie.
