They may be great pillows, but what's with the guy??? The way he looks and sounds and the weird things he does in his TV commercials, he give me the creeps!
Always wearing the same shirt, showing up in peoples medicine cabinets, leaning over a guys wife as she lays in, and playing with her pillow saying, "do you like that? How about this" Ehheeew!
-
Chad, YEA and they all wear the same pajamas. Creeps out my wife JoAnn too!!
-
His ad campaign is a rousing success. He's got people that watched his ads (you) telling people that didn't even know he EXISTED (me) about his product and how interesting he is.
Simmons Beauty-Rest would kill for this kind of grassroots exposure .....

Hard work and persistence pays off. :thumb: His tv ads may be creepy and annoying but........$$$$$$

You know, I can't find a decent pillow. Read the reviews for this guy and not so promising.
So long as we're here, anyone know of a good pillow? My aching neck wants to know.
-
I discovered buckwheat hull filled pillows in Japan, and they are the best thing ever.

Until you get an up-close and personal rat problem ....  !

I use a CPAP pillow. It allows you to have varying thickness as needed between your head and the bed. Many different makers, most look like this one: (https://www.sleepdirect.com/img/6894/cpapmax-plushfiber-pillowtop-387241480453935128012_png_egdetail.jpg)

If I opened my medicine cabinet and saw his grinning face staring at me I'd probably shit myself and have an embolism. I'm sure he's a good stand up guy, but would I be surprised to hear on the news that he's been murdering prostitutes and stuffing them in giant pillow cases? Not one bit.
-
I recently removed the medicine cabinets in the AZ house. He's not coming thru mine!

Never saw a MyPillow advertisement.
I saw the pillow at the local Bed, Bath and Beyond store and thought it an interesting and different design. Bought one to try it out. I've been sleeping on it for the past year now: it works really well for me, all my older pillows have been retired.
Still haven't seen the MyPillow advertisement. Don't really care to either.
-
I haven't seen it either, but I don't watch much TV.. I'll look for it on line, maybe?

That's my story too .. I don't watch any broadcast television (only shows from Netflix, Hulu, iTunes, and Starz) because I despise the interruption and disruption that advertising wreaks on trying to see a show. I won't do it.
I'm certainly not inclined to hunt up a creepy-ish silly advertisement on a decent product either. It's just not an amusement I participate in.

His My Pillow adds seem to always come on CNN early in the morning, seem targeted at old folks that suffer from insomnia . They are annoying as heck to me ,and I usually switch the channel until its over.
Mike Lindell does have a certain "creepyness" to his demeanor , for some reason.
Rick.
-
Give "More Lindell" a break! He's an American success story. Designed his pillow in the U.S. Is manufacturing it in Minnesota. Does his own advertisements. Moto Guzzi would be wise to hire him!
-
Googled "creepy my pillow guy" and found this...

We think of Guzzi guys as being "old" sometimes.
Looks like this group here is too young to remember Ron Popeil and the Veg-O-Matic ("makes julienne fries in seconds") and the Pocket Fisherman ("Really catches fish") and a hundred other gimmicks and widgets for your home and countertop, that would do absolutely ANYTHING you wanted.
This Pillow guy is but a pale shade of the marketing style and expertise of Popeil, who is still kicking around by the way (his latest is a combination Turkey Fryer and Shrimp Boiler) ......
The wheel turns, the same spoke comes around ....

He is sleeping all the way to the bank!

Again, the good news on the MyPillow is that (at least for me) it works very well for what it's supposed to do: be a comfortable pillow to rest my head on while sleeping. Having a major vendor like Bed, Bath & Beyond carrying it means that I don't have to worry about return policies or the other silliness with a VegeMatic type product available only from the advertisers.
Whatever the inanity of the advertising and marketing hype--that I never see or listen to anyway--I find it a very comfortable and sensible pillow. I mean, really, who actually believes any of that bullshit anyway? Is that how you bought a Moto Guzzi, by looking at a spec sheet and believing the marketing bullshit?

Well, if you look again at the original post, the statement was that the pillow may be very good (as you've noted) but that the Pillow Guy himself looks and acts weird. I think that's still probably true AND it appears to be working for him, as weirdness often does in the marketing world ....

I prefer a nice soft brick.
It works much better in a pillow fight.
-
Mike Lindell is promoting his own product instead of paying some high priced pitch man lots of money. Instead the money stays in his company. Most on this list have not even had a paper route, yet can crititize a raging success.

Funny how personal some of you are takeing this. I only stated that I find him and his sales style creepy, I figured I can't be the only one.
Perhaps a tiny example of how our nation seems to have lost the ability to discuss without vering off into hyperbole.

I don't respond well to most hard sell salesman. He is annoying, but then so was the Popeel guy and the guy that sold everything from Ginsu knives to that rubber spray and dropped dead of a heart attack . Read an article about the pillow guy, he was a down on his luck crack head that finally got his act together in rehab and went on to found a very successful company. He's made in the USA, employs quite a few folks and generally contributes positively. Can't beef with that. I wouldn't buy a Toyota either but I think that "Jan" in their sales commercials is cute as can be.
-
I'll take Jan any day, you can keep Mike.
-
I had never heard his story till this came up. Gives me a different perspective on the guy.
Hey, ever wonder how he ended up behind the medicine cabinet? Most likely looking for a blade in the slot. OR it was a nightmare he had and this is his way dealing w/it.
The thing is--- He made an impression on you and you don't forget it. Means he did his job.
-
That's only good for him if he made a positive impression, he didn't with me.
-
Being successful won't make you any less creepy. The two actors in that commercial seem like they are in a hostage situation. You wait for one of them to hold up a little sign that asks "HELP!".
I'm pretty Sure Billy Mays heart exploded from snorting too much OXYCLEAN.
The lazy eye Sham-wow guy is also a peach. Sham-wow... buy one for soaking up spills and get one free for cleaning up the blood and hair after getting beat up by a prostitute.( that happened )
I miss seeing Ron Popeil. He sells/ sold some goofy crap, but what a class act.
-
Reminds me of the "closet, you'll love it" commercial on Modern Family.

The medicine cabinet thing is a tribute to a commercial from my youth-I remember the actors faces and seem to have forgot the product, but that bit is as it should be.
Yeah, he seems funny, but he seems like a good guy too. Same shirt is likely because all the spots were done in a day.
-
That's only good for him if he made a positive impression, he didn't with me.
What would be really creepy is opening my medicine cabinet and seeing you on the other side.

Good one Jim :thumb:

I tried one and didn't work for me..got a full refund. I have heard he's a decent, hard working guy.
His approach works. How many motorcycle forums talk about pillows?
I rest my case...

From Bucky,

I thought it would be all over the one-percenter forums.
