Title: 2003 Stone Battery Q's
Post by: mtwillyman on March 16, 2018, 02:36:58 AM
The Westco battery in my 2003 Stone is unwell. I ordered a replacement, in haste, from Amazon. the battery I received is huge in comparison, haha! It's a "Chrome" battery model YTX30L-BS AGM monster. My bike has emissions thing next to the Westco right now. Will this battery work/ fit OK? It looks like a Road King battery, 30LB! Does anyone have experience with this or a similar battery? Thanks in advance :) I may try to return the new battery, request sent through Amazon tonight. All I wanted was a quality battery for the orange turd, sigh.  :boozing:

Hi!  Good to see you posting, and good to hear that the orange turd yet lives!

I've gotten the Odyssey 925 into my EV @ Dimensions L x W x H (in): 6.64x7.05x5.04  I could have gone taller.  If it will fit it will work.  Watch the post orientation.

You got better service from your Westco than I did.

Something makes me think Guzzi went to a bit smaller battery when they moved something in beside it. (The emissions thing I presume, unless you or someone else moved it there.) So if you ordered a battery for a Guzzi around 2000, it might be different. As for the battery RK mentioned, if you were to go with that, the 925L will have the terminals in the proper orientation. (They still end up on the side but they are on the correct ends of the battery.

The Turd has an evap gas charcoal cannister next to the battery. I just want a plug and play battery. I'll return the new battery soon. Thanks for the replies.

I found the Westco battery website and found the right battery. It took awhile, but I did. I'll order it next week and post the info here for other 2003 and 2004 EV owners to use. What a pain in the ass, haha!  :boozing:
