Entertaining short on the car. Always gives me a grin to watch this. It's been posted before.

This is my OLD video tape recording of the story 60 Minutes did on Lamborghini way back in 1987. The original material is copyrighted by CBS and 60 Minutes. I uploaded my copy of the segment after MANY requests from Lamborghini fans around the world!"

Wow! The Countach, Malcom Forbes, AND D.E.D., too!!! What a cool time capsule... :thumb:
Lambos started out somewhat wild and rough, but they have steadily evolved into refined danger...thanks for posting!

Fantastic, thanks! I recall the original broadcast; I was mesmerized.

Great historical clip! Best line of the video...Morely Safer saying @ 180 mph:
"I must say, this is a thrilling ride!"

The shift lever looks to be the same length and stroke as those in the Lambo tractor I've sat upon.
Hmmmm? 'Sour grapes'; as mom used to say. Maybe I could swing a bottle of his wine.
Thank you for the flick. Those were good times. R3~

Another interesting data point...Countachs from 1987-89, which were $120,000 new, are now going for $350,000-$400,000!!

Fantastic video. I think this was towards the end of the interesting era of Lamborghini, with great characters involved like Lamborghini himself and Bob Wallace, the original test driver. Italian built VWs don't interest me any more than the German built ones.
It doesn't look like Balboni is wearing a seat belt, which would be typical of that time in Italy.

:1: Forwarding this to the Hubs! He was one of those 80's kids who had Lambo posters up and models displayed.

For relatively short money find a nice Pantera. Do minor badge engineering on the exterior. :) R3~
