Title: Adding a full size image to a post using Google photo's?
Post by: Travlr on April 12, 2018, 08:19:14 PM
I'm now using Google Photo's to host my pictures.  If I want to add a full size image to a Wild Guzzi post how do it do it?

Or is there a better free hosting service?

Thanks,

Mike

Ok, here's how to do it.
Browse to the picture you want to upload.
Click on it to enlarge it.
Right click and copy the image URL (Chrome = Copy image address, Firefox = Copy image location).
Click on insert image on WG (bottom left of the two rows on top on my screen)
Paste, and Bob's your mother's brother..

The one of the Scura looks like a blank page? <scratching head>

Edit: opened this thread on Android, and the Curtiss racer and Scura show up, too.
What I don't understand about this would fill several volumes.
Can anyone else see these, or is it because I have a Google account?

Use the Wildgoose board 'add image to post' below the reply text box.
That puts the image on the ibb.com site. Now, click preview to see the uploaded small thumbnail.

(http://thumb.ibb.co/hZsxrn/2018_02_05_03_29_05.jpg) (http://ibb.co/hZsxrn)

deleting steam account (https://deleteacc.com/steam)

Click the thumbnail and view the image on the ibb.com site. Click the 'embed code' tab. Copy the 'full image BBCode' link. Go back to the post and paste that link:

(http://preview.ibb.co/f7Ge47/2018_02_05_03_29_05.jpg) (http://ibb.co/hZsxrn)

I usually prefer the simple thumbnail view though. And I assume ibb.com is staying in business from us clicking on the thumbnails also.

Well I'll be....I've been using Imgur since photosuckit changed terms. Had no idea I could pull straight from google photos.

Now I'll be even more obnoxious

It just gives the thumbnail.. if I click on the thumbnail to send it full size it gives the error messages..

Uh, Daniel.. I came back to reply to you and you must have taken the post down. It's a Curtiss (yes, that Curtiss) race plane. Custom built.. the only one. I'm not restoring it, the Kid is.

I can't help with Google or Photobucket or Smugmug.

I am on DP, Digital Photographer Review Site and Forum.  They have a free storage site for members.  I have 331 full size photos loaded.

JPEG image files only (for now)
Maximum of 20 MB or 20 megapixels in size
Maximum of 30,000 pixels along any axis
Free account limits
Maximum of 200 MB uploads per month (resets first of each month)
Maximum of 1,000 photos in total per account

A thumbnail isn't a full size post. I was trying to do that, and I can for apparently *some* users. <shrug>  Maybe it's just Macs that don't work? Windows and Android do..

In fact, your method would work no matter where you upload the pics from.  Not just Google.
