I picked up a pair of ducati SS 41 fcr carbs, with the intention of running them on a raceco BB in my 850T. Anyone done similar with the carbs, any issues and tips appreciated!

A customer had a set on his punched out late BMW airhead, worked much better than the Bings.

I've got a set on my Lemans SE project. nice carbs and they make great sucking noises. FYI, you need sidedraft FCRs for a Guzzi. Ducati's use a downdraft set up.

I've had Keihin FCR41 carbs on my Sport 1100 for 15-years. Ordered a kit from SUDCO.
As delivered, they were set up well. All I did was balance, set the idle and the idle air/fuel mixture, then went riding.
No maintenance since. They're great carbs, and make the Sport 1100 a much better ride.

I put a pair on my R65, w/Luftmeister Blitz Kit (855cc, ported, big valves, dual pugged. Excellent! R3~

Thanks Turin, great lookin' LeMans! This is a downdraft or horizontal draft carb?

I purchased a split pair from Ed Milich, he said they came off a '96 900SS but would work with the BB Roundfin Guzzi motor... now I'm a bit confused

Look at the angle of the float bowl on the bottom of yours.

You could give those darned old FCR's to me and I'll use them on my 900ss. I'll even cover shipping

Maybe Ed will take them back??

I'm no carb expert and Ed would know better than I would. They "shouldn't" work. You can probably sell those FCRs and get a brand new set of Delortos and have extra money for cables etc.
I bought my FCRs from powerbarn. It's similar to the sudco kit with cables throttle tube etc. It's I ended up using the throttle/control from a late EV 1100.
FCRs aren't necessary. I went with them because my project is an ex Racebike with a seriously hopped up motor and was a basket case with no carbs included. as brought home-

How much would a set of those set me back for a 1991 R100GS? I think I'm faced with a carb rebuild including removing the butterflys and replacing the o rings that seal the butterfly shafts. My Bings are 32mm, not 40mm. The Keihins wouldn't be oem original, but neither is the starter motor or the ignition system (new starter motor, bean can and 'ECU' courtesy of Rick Jones, Motorrad Elektrik.)

Sudco and Powerbarn offer a kit for the Guzzi 1100 sport and that is it as far as Guzzi's go. Keihin does list both the 37 and 39 FCR for the R100. Probably not cheap. I'd call on of the above and ask.

Dusty: I had that engine blueprinted. I was drinking a lot of Kool-Aid @ the time.
A run from Montreal to near Quebec City for a bmw rally doomed an R100S, along the way. His engine broke @ ~110. Very messy. Last I heard (long ago, now), that bike with my original engine wound up as a home brew GS. R3~

You still have the stock 38mm Mikuni CV's on the engine? I know a few tricks to make them function better ...That's if you think yours need help
