I installed the new powder coated black wheels, valve covers, and crash bars tonight. I didn't know if changing the wheels and valve cover color from silver to black would look good on a yellow 1100 Sport, and I'm glad to say that I like the way she looks now better then before! The wheels were powder coated and got new wheel bearings, valve stems, new Dunlop tires, new Brembo Rotors, and brake pads. The new painted front fender was suppose to also be ready for pickup this morning, but it wasn't........ It's going to be another week or so before I get this last part installed in order to get this bike completed for this years riding season. I didn't know if I would like the black valve covers on this bike, but I think that they pull everything together nicely with the frame, wheels, and rear swingarm being in the same black color coating. I usually don't like yellow on a motorcycle, but I think that the 1100 Sport is one sexy looking bike in yellow, but so is the black, red, blue, and silver.....  :)

That looks great. The original grey finish on these wheels looks like crap, especially when it starts flaking off.
Like the black accents.

The original ‘grey’ finish on the Marchesini wheels was metallic silver, but it was not clear coated and faded to gray very quickly.  As I recall later wheels (roughly ‘98-on, after Brembo bought Marchesini) were clear coated but still the finish wasn’t so durable. The best thing you can do is refinish them, and if you want silver as original a good shop will blast, paint and clear so they look good for decades.

Very nice. I have to refinish the covers and wheels too-tho the wheels will wait for some time, as I bought it to ride not fall down the well of refit (as I did with the '85) I was curious about black for the covers. I like it, as I did on the '85 LM.
A Yellow Sporti is the sexiest bike ever made, I figure.

Great work. Looking good. Yellow is the sexiest colour for an injected.
