This sucks.  He was such a good man and the perfect spokesperson for our military members. He set a lot of records straight and virtually eliminated false propaganda and reporting inaccuracies. I had a chance to meet him some years back, but work got in the way.

First five minutes of Full Metal Jacket was Oscar-worthy...I still find myself quoting his character (with my kids, "major malfunction" often in play  :grin:)
