I’ve been told that the 1200 Sport forks are slightly different than the Norge and Breva 1100. I know the capacity and weight of the oil. but does anyone have experience draining and filling the fork oil on the 1200 Sport forks? If so, could you briefly give some directions? Thanks.

Take them off, open top pour out oil, put cap on & pump oil out of dampner, open cap & pour out oil. repeat until empty. Then I let stand inverted oil dripping for couple hrs. Put in oil.
You want to have all settings at minimum.

If your 1200 has the compression and rebound screws then the fork top is held on by a nut under the fork top, which means you have to compress the fork spring to get access to the nut. If I remember correctly the fork oil level is carried out with the springs removed.
Also just lay out all the bits that come out in order and the right way round so putting back together is easier

Geeee... Why didn't car manufacturers make cars without drain plugs so you would have to turn them upside-down to drain the engine oil?!?
Wait... Maybe the Italians do!?

I posted a how-to with photos on GT several years ago, may still be up there under Tech. I have a seal driver if you want to borrow it (45mm I think).
