Title: new mk2 lemans racer build on pipeburn
Post by: Lumpy Idle on April 26, 2018, 12:37:14 PM
http://www.pipeburn.com/home/2018/04/26/moto-guzzi-le-mans-racer.html

previous contributions from both bikeexif and pipeburn have sent our local villagers into the street with pitch forks. this one promises to be no exception.  what is that thing on the exhaust pipe that looks like a small 2-stroke expansion chamber?

Nice workmanship , but it kinda reminds me of those Twin Jet Yamahas from the late '60's , the models that appeared to have the fuel tank mounted backwards . Probably a hoot to ride , or would have been 20 years ago before old age made that riding position very uncomfortable

My biggest objection (of many) is the design emphasizes the vulnerability of the sump...yes, yes, it's supposedly a road or track bike but it has all the appearance appeal of a smashed thumb...but if somebody likes it, then I guess it was worth it...

damn. that's good. i have to write that down for (unattributed) later use. i know there will come a time when i will want to say "Bob, that ________ has all the appearance appeal of a smashed thumb." good linguification here twowings.

I do not care for the tiny gas tank. The name on the tale section is juvenile and cheapens the rest of the build.

Gosh! Someone has worked out you can put a V11 broad sump on a round fin crankcase! How clever! Now they can torch its big ends and wonder why?!

I'd rather look at a real Lemans 2
