Title: Major square D disconnect box recall
Post by: old as dirt 2 on April 26, 2018, 03:09:10 PM
folks these disconnect boxes are used for a multitude of things like water heaters, a/c units, subpoenas and what nots. please inspect yours and have them replaced if necessary, by all means do NOT attempt to do this yourself if your not fully competent in electrical issues like this. Call a licensed electrician if in doubt what so ever.

Square-D boxes have been around forever and are everyone's standard - odd to think that they might still pass current when the switch is "off".

On the other hand, the CPSC is the agency that wanted to ban light motorcycles used by youngsters because the battery terminals were made of lead, and they were afraid that the tots riding them (after removing their helmets and gear) might start chewing on the terminals and get lead poisoning ... Hope this isn't the same sort of far-out weirdness.   Once they get started, you can't trust 'em ....
