And this just in from San Francisco...... I picked up my newest stable companion from the shippers this morning. She is a 1997 Moto Guzzi 1100 Sport, which is believed to be the lowest milage (with now 1391 miles on the clock) 1100 Sport in existence. Please let me know if anyone knows of a lower milage 1100 Sport. It would be interesting to know if this is indeed the lowest milage 1100 out there. :) She made the trip from San Francisco CA to Raleigh NC within five days and without any issues. The shipping company did a great job! I like the metal pallet that they used to strap and ship this bike to my home. I see another group picture coming up soon, which will show all of the five factory 1100 colors that were available, with the Nero "Black / Bronze" metallic paint covering the black color code.

showoff!
Right on my friend! To find one of each color and all in great condition took a lot of hard work! I searched online almost every night for three years to find them all; however, three came from local collectors, and a friend of mine got me connected with a guy from Maine, who sold me the silver 96. Either way, I will now be able to slow down and start to appreciate them more by riding them.

Having one of each color was the goal, which is done now. Getting a very low milage bike which completed the hunt was just gravy.

Congratulations! You have great taste. Now that the collection is complete, what's the next goal?

Like your thinking. One of each color. :thumb: Mine was to have one of every model change for the sport side. V7 Sport on up V11 LeMans. Along the way I acquired duplicates models. Fun.

:1: Now the real question is whether or not you're going to put more miles on her?

Congrats - I'll have to make do with my CARCollection Trifecta: Norge, Stelvio, and Griso...

Congrats, 21 years old and looks brand new!

I think you need to put a photo up Tom to show Andy how many he has to go to catch up.

That is a challenge for me at this point. Takes me at least an hour just to check air pressures. :embarrassed:
An hour and 1/2 to add air. I did think about doing pix for the red bikes, one for the black bikes and one for misc. colors.

Now you need a bike wrangler...I'm available...

Nice! Congratulations. :thumb:

I think you need just one more. The true black carb model.

I'm planning on displaying this bike in my home for now, so no, this bikes milage will not change anytime soon. I ride most of my other bikes, but I really don't add but maybe 200 - 400 miles to any of them per year. I like to keep this bikes milage low and the bike itself in pristine condition, so that my future grandchildren hopefully enjoy this bike one day as much as I enjoy my others today.

There is a Yellow 1100 i in Western Australia with 14kms (8 miles?) from memory.

Thanks Nic,
My next goal will be to slow down my busy life a little and enjoy / ride my other bikes more often. I also still have some work to do on most of my other bikes, but that is mostly my OCD rearing its ugly side, which requires that everything on my bikes must be just right.... But, that mostly entails waxing, buffing, and some general maintenance work. The stuff that is fun.......

I know, I know...... , but I decided that the 97 Nero / Bronze will cover my needs for having a black 1100..... :azn:
I do however have another yellow 97, which was sitting in the woods for seven years, and this bike will need a complete restoration, in my eyes...... and I'm planning on having the engine, gearbox, and wheels painted in black, and then come up with a new color for the rest. I always likes the "Steel City Gray" color on a older Corvette, so that may be the color that I will paint that bike in. I believe in keeping a vehicle in it's original color if possible, but all of the fiberglass on this bike needs some repairs to be done, so originality is pretty much out the window at that point. Besides, this bike has 33k miles on it, so she will be one of my main riders after she is done.

There was this black carb'ed 1100 Sport I was interested in for sale in New York 3 years ago. 800 miles. Talk about a fly & ride. It was the fettling required between the fly and the ride that put me off then. However, if it sold then, it should have a lot more than 800 miles on it by now. I ended up with the V11 Le Mans in the UK that time. Still a decent fly & ride. But a V11 is not an 1100 Sport.
