Title: Throwout bearing

I know this has been touched on before and I have read some of the threads, but just need to tap into some collective wisdom to put my mind at ease.

After a winter of limited use, my Eldo started to make some weird, periodic sounds from the clutch area.
I have pulled the bike to pieces, got the gearbox off and pulled the clutch rod and all the bits that go with it. 
Two of the rollers within the clutch throwout bearing came loose. Fortunately I found them on the floor, not in the bellhousing.
Obviously I need a new bearing and will replace all the other bits along the line too.

What I need to be comfortable with is this: is this the probable cause of the problem, or should I disassemble the clutch itself, looking for broken springs or other trouble (I'd rather not....)?.

I would, because you're in there already and it's not really much more work to go the whole way. If you need a clutch alignment/spring compressor tool, you can use the clutch hub with a suitable spacer and bolt.

I doubt that is the noise. That is just a worn cage that get the bearing drop out when you pulled it apart.

I would keep looking since you are that close.

Thanks gents.  Charlie: I have 'the tool' so no problem - and I'll remember to get new bolts and use blue loctite.

Agreed on all points. That little sucker might squeal a little if totally Donald Ducked.. it's not.

How about a pic of the race washers that the radial throwout bearing rides on?

BTW, the throwout bearing lives in the transmission rear cover.  No way those missing needles could get up into the dry bell housing.

   I have a throw out bearing # 12087001 that I got with a bunch of other NOS parts, and I have no use for. If your interested, PM me and I'll drop it in the mail. Cheap cheap cheap.(guzzi content). Lemme know.
