Post by: bad Chad on June 20, 2018, 04:34:06 PM
Goodness, times must be good!  I have not seen Guzzi offer this many new motorcycles since the early days of Aprlia ownership!

That is really cool!  They have come a long way.  I think this is the best they have been, in terms of quality and variety of bikes, since I bought my first Guzzi 32 years ago.

No, with the Stelvio & GRiSO gone, they've 3 models, in various suits of clothing.

I disagree, I think that they are different.  They have different specs and features, they all have the 750, yeah.

You could say the same about a lot of brands.

I really love how the Eldorado looks

But wondering if the MGX-21 front fairing would fit on it?

To me there's the cruisers: The Eldo, Audace, MGX, and the Cali.
The big ADV bike: Stelvio.
The oddball: Griso
And then I would group all the rest as a differently accessorized "V" model.
I'd really like to see two more styles (models):  A sport model and naked standard model.

*p.s.   Oddball is a good thing!!

Oddball is just another way of saying it is beautiful in its own way...and I certainly do love it.

Griso to me is a mix of cruiser GROW-NESS with a sportbike's heart & Spirit...

really love to own one if I can ever afford a storage area for more than one bike...

Much the way I see it.

And that leaves nothing I'd have.

That's kinda the way I see it.

Or in HARLEY speak they have 3-4 chassis - Street, Sportster, Softail, Touring and 5-8 model variants of each.

But that's all semantics. The models are more like "trim levels" in the automotive world than actual different models. Some have smaller or larger engines, some have different amenities, but when the frame and motor are basically the same from one to the other, they're all just one model.

It's a matter of semantics, but I see three different models each with different accessories and colors. Stelvio and the Griso would have been buried by now..... may hey RIP.

Moto Guzzi have Aprila for sport and oddball models. They are not going to compete against each other.

I can't imagine either one sells enough to worry about competing against the other...and I have both.

I just hope Guzzi comes out with another Breva-ish model by the time I'm ready for another touring standard.  And I doubt I'll be getting a third Breva 1100 down the road.
As of now, I don't see anything in the lineup that "tics" all the boxes for me.  But I would love to stay in the Guzzi (immediate) family.  There's something about a Guzzi, that gets under your skin.
Our Capo 1200 is sort of an aprilia oddball I guess.  Touted as a ADV touring bike.....sort of?  It has the minimal bodywork, the high comfy handlebars,  soft ergo's for our old knees,  a trunk and luggage, good fuel range, and a decent V-twin lump for the audio.   It "tics" the boxes, but it's not a Guzzi.  It is, however a oddball mile muncher that elicits big grins whenever I give the throttle a bit of a twist.  Maybe aprilia will come out with a 2up Tuono or a V4 RST (modern Futura).

If they only made a Guzzi equivalent to the BMW R1200R... The ergos are perfect on that bike.
