MCN has an article about and picture of the Scrambler 659 that Norton has unveiled. I’d post the link, but can’t work out how to.
It’s an interesting looking bike.

Don't think I've ever met someone who did not at least want to ride a Norton (the real Norton), if not own one.
That other thing, I wouldn't take it for free, seriously. JMO

Half again as much power as a "real" Norton. Probably lighter than a P11 Scrambler which was much closer to off road capable than a "S" model though I doubt by much. Looks to me like a 690 KTM on steroids. I would not only take it for free but actually buy one. And for the recond I own a real Commando.

Nice looking bike except for the size of the radiator.

let's be honest. Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki, and BMW all make more suitable bikes if the most of your riding is offroad, if you want a bike for dirt/fireroads, Guzzi has the Quota and Stelvio. Doubt that bike is less than 450lbs......And it's UGLY! :tongue:

Use it off road and there is going to be one helluva lot of crap ending up in the radiator and oil cooler. :rolleyes:

Nope not the high pipe. Mine was a blue silver interstate. The most perfect shift pattern ever put on two wheels, with the grunt to go with it.

I live quite close to the Norton factory and they appear on the local TV news channel from time to time. There is often talk of a big expansion in bike production but nothing much seems to change, they are still a small niche producer in the great British cottage industry tradition.

A friend of mine purchased one back in the 80's for chump change in almost perfect condition. No one wanted them back then, and now they are going for some large money. Wish I had bought it instead of him, it was for sale at the yearly British show in Mass.

There are a couple of P11s running around Western NY Rough. Two guys in the Norton club had them but I think both have been sold. There was also a Matchless badged one around for a while.
Nostalgia is great but the guys who had them rarely rode them more than around the campground. 10 minutes and your hands would be numb.
