I just wondered if anyone hear would know if a digiplex 2ts501a would work as a suitable swap to test if there's a fault with my digiplex 2ts500a.
The 501a is from a 2002 Nevada carb, whereas the 500a is on my Cali 1100carb '95.
I can't seem to find any info on this anywhere.
Cheers, Izzug

The mapping is likely to be different, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.
Example, I put a digiplex from a Strada in my 95 "spot" 1100. the dreaded flat spot was gone and the gas mileage increased.
Many hae changed the carbs to Keihin's thinking the dellortos were the problem.
So, if were me, and I was pretty sure the box was bad, I'd give it a try.
*** just saw this. this place sells a unit that replaces either. So thinking you have a good chance the 500a will work.

Interesting mate, thanks very much. I feel confident I won't do any damage trying it at least.

mapping should be the only difference

I would be looking into the timing on the previous model small block. That will tell you if the timing is close to that of your big block. They are not close to being the same.
It looks like Carmo is repairing w/same as what yours is mapped.

guzziology has those numbers, but the link shows a replacement digiplex that covers both models.
guessing the op has access to the 501a, both are carb. bikes. think it's worth a try. The Strada digiplex and the spot also had different numbers, and the Strada one actually worked much better on spot.

Sorry mate I don't follow this at all.

The link that Yogi put up, it is a digital repaired board. It should be the same timing as what you have stock.

yeah, but they are $434. I thought he had someone who had a 501A, he could try.
