Title: Catalyst Removal?
Post by: Spokane2303 on July 04, 2018, 01:33:19 PM
Theoretically, if the catalysts were to fall out of my V7 Stones exhausts, would that have any impact on the MAP requirement?

The pipes just seem so hot with the catalysts in and I'm tired of melting my rubber soles.

I'm not looking for more noise, just less heat!

Contact Beetle on this forum for a remapping ECU and your problem will be solved and yes you can also replace the factory Hpipe with a minstrel Hpipe and yes with the remap it will run much cooler and Preformance will increase. I just finished this same thing a few months ago and you won't look back.

Somebody should be along to answer your theory query, but note that all pipes get hot and your boots may always be at risk. Some boots and some feet are more at risk than others. You've got to experiment a little there. Most aftermarket pipes are slimmer than the stock can's, which may be enough to avoid your soles. Melting pillions soles & heels won't show up so badly on something like the Agostini black muffler. Ceramic coating the pipes not only enables them to cool very quickly, but also easier to remove any melted gunk. There are likely to be be solutions, which ones work for you is a matter of experimentation.

Don't some states (maybe California for one) not allow them to be removed? JIC might want to look into that
