I replaced one of those foolish graphite exhaust system gaskets on the Stelvio a while back, and now it's blown again - so I likely messed something up. :violent1: I have never had an issue with these on the Norge, nor on the Griso (though with far fewer miles on that one).
I welcome any tips on how to replace one of these in a way that provides a more permanent fix - whether in terms of how to replace it with the factory product successfully, or other alternatives.

I used "Permatex Ultra Copper High Temp RTV Gasket Maker" (available from NAPA) in the joints when I replaced the gaskets on my Stelvio. I also kept the new gaskets "slightly proud" of being flush in the larger diameter pipe. That way I could see if it was staying in position or slipping. And, a frequent check of the clamp capscrews to make sure they were tight.
The smaller of the graphite gaskets is available from Kawasaki at a lower price than from MG. I used to have the Kawa P/N but lost it when I sold the bike. The larger diameter gasket is only available from MG.

If the tail pipe is loose when fitting to the gasket I wrap the tail pipe w. HD aluminum foil to increase the diameter and make a tighter fit. It helps to roll and press the foil over the end of the male end of the pipe ever so slightly to hold it in place. Any foil hanging down in the exhaust flow will soon be blown out the end of the exhaust
