Title: Nice Little Guzzi
Post by: Kiwi_Roy on July 23, 2018, 10:01:28 AM
Out of the blue I received a text to see if I was interested in a small Guzzi, well of course I was.
I went and had a look, the owner thinks its a Cardellino aka Lusso 1956 or 1958. This was purchased somewhere in the states, he has the paperwork. He thinks he paid just under 3k for it
Two strokes are not really my thing but I thought I would post it here for your entertainment.
I would say this one is in really good original condition, everything looks correct and it hasn't been abused, small dent in the tank looks like it could be popped right out.

Wiring looks like original fabric covered, switch is in good shape, the levers are a little rusty
but the wheels are in great shape, Italian tires.

Originally from Italy by the sticker

It has a serious long clutch actuator, one down & two up (3 speed) 65CC

The side cover has been off I think, some sort of white gasket cement.

The carburetor attaches to the engine right at the main bearing, must have some sort of rotary valve.

Although it wouldn't start I believe it's just typical of any two stroke that's been sitting for a while, the motor seems to have good compression, the clutch will slip a bit first kick
First of all what do you guys think it's worth and if anyone is seriously interested I can put you in touch.

Yes, the owner appreciates the patina, he was planning on having it on display in his new house.

Looks just like the T-shirt picture of one. I got this from my sister on my birthday, unasked. I'm willing to part with it if anybody wants to complete the t-shirt and motorcycle set.

Could be fun to ride in the right environment.

Nah, just piston port induction.

Are the photos recent? Where is the bike located?  Somewhere warm I am assuming.

So, I take it that you are a displaced kiwi?  My son said they are having a cold winter.

My son said they are having a cold winter.

I can confirm from down in the South island that it's not exactly tropical.
