Looks like a hot cat in the pipe. Good excuse to open it up & get a map.

Looks very familiar!

Mine caused by intermittent short, left plug cap/wire.

I had actually upgraded to new NGK Caps and plugs prior to this problem; however, I didn't trim 1/4" off the plug wire prior to screwing on the new caps.  Duh, it developed an intermittent short on the left side.

I also found a large vacuum leak at the hose connection from the evap charcoal canister to the manifold.  The connection at the evap canister was extremely loose!

I have the same model, same year, same issue on the same side!  The plug cap was not making good contact.  The left pipe was glowing red by the time I got it home.  Now it's running great, but I still have the reminder.

Welcome to the club...both WG and burnt exhaust pipe...

I just recently had a poo poo moment with bad plug to the right side. I highly recommend you change out the plug/cap BEFORE it happens to you too.

If you already had the cap changed out, check your wire connection in case it is loose.

My son burned the right side exhaust on his 2013 V7. He replaced both, so he has a good left side, if it's the same as yours. You could maybe talk him out of it.

I have 32K on my '15 V7 Stone and in constant fear the Cats are gonna burn and permanently disfigure my chrome pipes.   It seems to be a malady common to the V7.  I changed the plug caps and the shop removed the Evap can when I bought it used with 5K.  At this time the cat conv. are slowly discoloring (brown) the chrome on both pipes.  I believe this must be normal (dirty little secret) as the high temp from the Cat conv. will slowly discolor the chrome like the discoloring of the manifold pipes.

What do the rest of you folks think?

After mine burned (left side), I started looking at every V7 I could see for this problem.

It does seems to be a very common occurance.

I have the original spark plug caps, I will change them and update the map. Do I have to change cable and spark plugs? Which model of spark plug cap is necessary? Thank you.
