A bargain if the goggles and leather cap are included  !
-
Pretty machine, and might be a bargain for all I know about Tri-King values .... but using the "What I've Got In It" value as a starting point for getting down to the "asking price" doesn't bode well .... !

A cool looking machine, but there I must leave it.

I have always really like the TriKing, some of the last ones had an automotive manual transmission ( 4 speed?) with reverse.
I wonder what it would be like to drive?

As I understand it, some of the "turn key" Trikings used a Toyota transmission, but the kits are all set up for the Guzzi unit. Personally, the Guzzi unit would be my choice (sequential shifting) along with a reverse unit.
I've been wanting to build one from the time I first saw one, but always lacked the $$ to do so. I might have to sell off a few things (motorcycles) and make it happen. I could buy this: http://shop.trikingsportscars.co.uk/product/triking-chassis/ and buy component groups as funding allows, until I finally have a runner.

That would have been my route to go Charlie but at 75+ I don't have the time or ambition to do much of anything but turn key but then SS probably cover the bill for that

I don't understand the appeal of three wheels other than for those with balance issues..In the UK I believe they were built to avoid certain road taxes?

That's true. That was the whole purpose of the MOG and they were really cool. so having a tri king is kinda like dating Khloe Kardashian just because she's a sister of Kim so that makes her cool too.

If I have to explain the appeal of a small Guzzi powered sportscar to you, then you'll probably never understand. Would it make a difference if it had one more wheel? What would they even call that - a Forking?
-
Needs a 1400 motor.
-
I would have no hesitation to buy one...if I had the lettuce!!   :thumb:
-
At some where around 750 pounds these do not need a bigger motor.

Now that's just crazy talk, Bill

Damn it Charlie! Now you have gone and got me really thinking I could get one of these kits, I thought they were long out of business and that only finished trikes were available. I could really get into one of these, good thing I have at least four projects in line right now or I could see getting into the one component at a time purchase plan ... still might one day.

I have done an eight thousand mile round trip east to west and back with my wife and 40 to 50 pounds of luggage, with a fair amount of 75 mph on main interstate, no problem. Have had it to 90 mph solo not wide open. I simply don't have a need to go any faster.

That price is about $6000 less than a new Morgan (which sports an S&S motor)...
-
JJ, would you buy that for us to share? I promise I’ll gas it up when I get to AZ LOL.
Yep I get these. I’ve always loved sports cars, so when I had my accident and was thinking I was done with motorcycling I was seriously considering building one of these. I was also thinking about it as a way to stay connected to the Guzzi community.
With the investment required I ended up buying a more known sports car in pieces and that project continues.
I’m sure that one could not call one of these “safe” but they sure look like fun.
Maybe JJ will really let me drive it[emoji6]

I know a guy that has a Morgan with the S and S motor. His frame cracked with about 35,000 miles on it Probably from the vibration of that motor. Morgan replaced frame with the understanding he would not post any images online.

I like this one...

Saw quite a few of these while backpacking through Italy. They're beautiful.
Anyone wanna gift me a small block so my brother&law and I can build a redneck runaround version?

It seems that building a Triking will continue to be just a dream for me. The US importer quoted me a price of $4580 for just the bare chassis...

Charlie, Check with Allen at Triking.

If I am not mistaken, a complete Tri-King kit, (4th generation), without the Guzzi engine goes for about $20K-$25K, by the time you get it shipped to the USA!!

I did! Triking UK will apparently not sell to me direct since there's a US agent: Moto Motivo.

Cali 1400 engine....then you can run a car tire on the back.
