Title: The V-7 CORBIN
Post by: MMRanch on August 17, 2018, 05:50:07 PM
Well

Turn out the Corbin does fit the V-7 and V-7II .

Before ordering I took my V-7II seat to my local dealer and tried it on a V-7III .    On the V-7III my V-7II seat was about 1/2" to short to touch the tank , not a great fit but it would have been a nice place to thread a hand towel into the crack ( to dry the seat with).

Then I tried a GEL seat of a V-7 on my V-7II .   It fit like it was made for it.

So , then I ordered the CORBIN GunFighter and Lady seat.   It seemed to "not fit" but with a few
adjustments it is doing just great .

The Fender Bolts -As they were , the nut was on the outside - now the bolt head is on the outside and that's just fine.

The resess on the  pin , on the bottom of the seat , was about .200" to short to catch into the factory seat / key release hole.

maybe these pictures will explain .

So , after the :    upload from computer  part , nothing happens ???   there has to be something else  ? The pictures are not getting posted ???

After "UpLoad Complete" then what  ???    and what in the world is " imgbb"

Tapatalk is the easiest way to post pics... At least I think.

Did you do anything with the latch pin?

Post by: MMRanch on August 17, 2018, 06:28:23 PM

No , nothing to the Latch , never even thought of that  … might want to put the original seat back on it if I ever sell it .

………………..

never heard of " Tapatalk "    , but after uploading from my computer , the "upload complete" then why don't the pictures show on the post ?     Is there another step ?

1   Add image to post
2.  select pictures
3.  Upload pictures
4.  Upload complete
5.  What else ???????????????  I don't get it .   There are no more promps after that , its like whoever designed the process left out something ?

Tapatalk is a phone app to read certain forums (including WG).

Not the latch, the latch PIN on the underside of the seat. What did you do with that?!?

I clicked on reply.
Then I clicked on "Add image to post"
A new window opens from imgbb.com
Then I open a windows explorer folder, navigate to the folder where the photo I want to upload is located and drag the photo into the imgbb.com window.
Click on upload and the link to the image location gets added to my post wrapped in "br"
"

I added spaces to show the line that is used to display the photo

Don't understand "br" ???

I'll do just what you said , about dragging , uploading  , what should happen after "upload complete" , mine just sits there forever .

https://mike-vanattia.imgbb.com/

after "upload complete" , there is a link to this page .... but any idea why the pictures don't go on the the post ?

they have the Long-DB killers / wraped in one layer of 3/8" muffler material (white) in them , with 5 holes open before the plug.

comes up  ?   Where did you get that from ?

Is it something that you type in or is it something you click on  ?

any direction is appreacated  .

I don't know what the URL or BR tags are about, but they are unnecessary. All you need are the IMG tags if you've got a link to the pic. Quote me and look at:

And I'm still curious if you modified the post on the seat. [emoji56]

Kev

Yea , about the pin on the bottom of the seat .

The pin is a 6mm/ screw with a 10mm flat sides for a wrench ,   so I screwed it out little at a time till I found where it would click into the key releace hole.
It needed about .200" more extention to click into the hole.   so I just chucked it up in the lath and cut the rim back .200"  , put one lock washer under it and screwed it back on.
After reversing the seat bolts it works perfect with no interfence .https://ibb.co/mQR3Xe

did ya get the pictures ?

That's what I was guessing. Maybe I'll try to extract and Dremel mine.

No pics, that link is asking for a log in. You need a shareable link.

. You need a shareable link.

you mean like facebook ?

If I was to post pictures on facebook and tried sharing them from there ?

The "Add image to post"  has something missing ???

Try this link to

By shareable link I mean a link that anyone could click on which would open the image in question.

You can host it anywhere that allows such things. I'm assuming the IMGR site accessed through WG can provide that, but you have to find it. It's not what you were posting.

Yes, in the past I've used FB for that on occasion.

As I said more recently I find it easier to upload directly to Tapatalk through the app which I use to access this and a few other discussion boards.

It takes me seconds and inserts all the tags automatically.(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180818/efd681de22c984f34dce6268be11c6ed.jpg)

 Just hit submit.

Whats happening behind the scenes is the upload copied the picture from your phone to an area this website (WildGuzzi) can access.

The URL codes that it automatically plops in tells the site that you're including a picture and where that picture is now stored.

Copy the url onto the post without "Add image to post" worked … had to get an account set up in ImgBB also.

Seems like "Add image to post" , picking them from computer , upload , should do it with out all that other stuff.

I know I'm not the "Electronic Guerue of all time" but I've been posting pictures on other sites for 15 years just fine without having a "Hosting" site.   I think the process on WildGuzzi is "Just not quite right" .  But , if I'm learning to deal with it then So-What …

Thanks for the pointers !

Good looking seat.  We should meet up sometime.  I would like to see it in person.  I guess you decided not to give Terry at https://www.terryscustomseats.com/ a call.

I put the Corbin V7 seat on my V7 III last year, very comfortable. The gap in the front doesn't bother me, I put a 3/8" spacer on the mounting pin to let it extend further toward the rear catch. I did have to cut a square of the heavy fiberglass pan out to keep it from hitting air cleaner lid. Easy fix with my dremel.

JACoH

I've thought if I find myself trading the II or a III someday , I'd keep the Corbin and tap a second hole for the pin.    might  JB Weld the new hole even , just to make the threaded part longer  ?

Now my back gets tired before my Back-side !

I'm going to the CMAUSA Tn. state rally this weekend ,   Everyday is Saturday for me but I've got to roll some hay tomorrow.   You want run up to Sloans Thursday after noon ?

Be my guest for the Bike Games Saturday at Montgomery State Park ?     I'm going to the campground Friday and leaving Sunday Morning , and have a 8'x10'x72" tent .   The campgrounds are up to "State Park" standards.   The Bike games may be starting about 10 am.  Friday and Saturday evening there will be Clubhouse activities too.
