Title: motor scooter shipping from so georgia to new orleans

I am waiting for quotes from uship.So far around $700 for 460 miles. Seems high to me.Any new ideas? Thanks

Are you near Valdosta?  Are you flexible on pickup and delivery dates? 

These shippers have to maximize their return by scheduling many bikes in the same region.  Flexibility on your part should reduce cost.

I got a quote an hour ago for 450 DOLLARS. Ten minutes ago I get a message from U ship that the shipper cancelled his quote> WTH.I guess he got better deals or his trailer filled up in one hr.If I drove I would save 200 dollars so it is not really worth it .

I called Federal and they wanted 745 Dollars. ouch

If you have the means and the time to go fetch the scooter you might as well do it. 

920 mile round trip at 15 mpg is 61.33 gallons at $2.75 a gallon is ~$170.00.

Add in a hotel room at $75 and you are at $245. 

might be more or less depending on your vehicle and hotel costs. 

People usually pay a shipper because they don't have the means, or the time to go get it themselves.

I have an �06 Piaggio BV500 for sale up in Covington. No shipping necessary...

I got the voltage regulator update done and a Piaggio windshield and topcase are included. It has about 7100 miles. My father-in-law was the only owner.

It has a top speed right around the ton, so the lake is not a problem. This scooter went to Denver and back in 2010. However, delivery can be arranged...
