 :shocked: Just buying a garden tractor battery and hooking it up "total loss" would have been easier and less expensive. When it runs down, just exchange it for a new one or charge it a few hours.

too bad they didn't have a smaller generator...

A battery charger and a couple of lawn-garden batteries would have done the trick to get you to the next gas station/electric outlet.

You may not appreciate the distance between gas stations here, I think his solution had Merritt if you'll pardon the pun  Merritt to Edmonton 555 Miles and not too many gas stations, traveling at night with the lights on would run a battery down fairly quick.
Anyway, no need for a serious discussion, I just posted it to make you smile :sad:
