Just picked up these bags at Iron Pony for $69.00. Fits under the seat and no frame needed. Not leather but looks and feels like it. Also came with waterproof and removable bags inside and a waterproof cover for the outside (although I can't imagine that the outside cover would not blow off). They look awfully close to the muffler, no? Or is that just the angle?
I had a saddle bag fire, once. It's become a very important issue for me.

If it's close, a pad of silicone should help - Velcro , stick or sew pieces cut from a silicone baking tray - supposed to be good for 500 C.
Well done JoeK, The price is certainly right, you do us proud. Are you sure they don't interfere with the shocks?

Hey, for the price it's well worth taking a chance on these bags. They look cool and give a real retro look to the bike. With that said, I'd caution you to not pack anything special in the lower quarter of the bags. As I recall the V7 has about 4" of movement at the rear wheel.

I have almost 2 inches over the muffler. All 230lbs of me couldnt get them to touch. I ran the strap to keep them close though the back peg mount so it doesn't interfere with shock. So far no issues.

Looking good.
Hey. aren't the small pockets supposed to be up front for better access while on the bike?
But what do I know?
