Title: Motorcycle Shippers
Post by: SmithSwede on September 03, 2018, 12:21:29 PM
Any recommendations for motorcycle shippers?  Need to get a bike from around Gettysville, Pa to Dallas, Texas.  Not in a rush.

I just used HaulBikes to bring a 1973 V7 Sport from Oklahoma to Virginia. They seemed really professional. They only haul motorcycles, nothing else. $750 was the cost.

I've used these guys twice so far with great service. Fla to AZ and UP Mich to AZ both 700.00 dollar range. Fully insured and no damage.

I have used Haul bikes twice. Would not hesitate to use them again. They often have sale prices. Check their website. Dedicated trucks and very clean and professional.

A red 1996 Ducati 900 SS/CR.  I am told it gets good gas mileage.

Was looking hard at the Honda CRX700 but decided the Ducati would be a more practical commuter bike.

Interesting choice Prescott...did you have the chance to ride a Griso before pulling the trigger on the Ducati?

Paul, there may be a Griso in my future.    However, I have wanted a Ducati since I was 16 years old.  Successfully resisted the temptation until last night.   I am a sucker for air-cooled and half-fairings.

Maybe I will love it.   Maybe I will not.  But I am gonna find out one way or the other.

I figure I cannot lose, because if I do not like it, I can always blame Dusty.

I see you have your Plan B ready at hand!  Post pics for sure....is this going to be your new daily commuter bike or a long distance cruiser?

The two valve air-cooled Duc motor is fantastic, you'll love it.

I was following a nice 900SS around the VIR North Course yesterday.    While I had him on power in the straights, he was FAST in the turns!

I usually use Federal.  They've been here many times!

Professional group, they ship on dedicated pallets and document condition of the bike before and after carriage.

For $3999.00 it's not much of a crisis for a dude like Prescott. Enjoy!  :thumb:

Haulbikes brought my Griso to LV from NJ - overall very good, a bit spotty on communication.

18 months ago when I shipped a V7 Sport from here to Montana, they gave almost daily updates on it's progress.

  I have a 96 900 M...With properly tuned carbs it's get 45 MPG at somewhat reasonable speeds....

45 mpg with a 4.5 gallon tank.  Good!

I'm only half kidding when I say this could be practical machine.   I simply don't understand modern day bikes that have a pathetic range--small gas tanks and lousy gas mileage.   I want to GO places.
