The Georgia Moto Guzzi campout is in Suches Georgia. Suches is located about 12 miles north of Dahlonega along route 60.
This is the motorcycle campground, Two Wheels of Suches. They have a few rooms available in the lodge, and a number of cabins. Contact them at http://twowheelsofsuches.com , or call 706-973-1671 to reserve a room or cabin. No reservation needed for campers.

Are you doing the ride this year?
-
Not sure. I need to find out what Mike is doing.
-
Dang, looks like cabins and lodge rooms booked up..
-
I think they went quick.
-
My friend talked me into attending the Kawasaki Concours rally in Suches this weekend. Naturally, rooms were booked early. He found this place about 10 miles west of Dahlonaga, and I have to say, this place is REALLY nice. They have quite a few large cabins with several rooms in each. The rooms are large and clean. And, they have free hot breakfast. You'll probably need GPS to find it. We did. It's called Forrest Hills Resort and Conference center. I might stay there again for the Guzzi Campout if I can find someone to split the room with me.

Bump from page 5 to the top. This gathering should be a sticky. Lots of good people and good riding.
Unfortunately I will not be able to make it this year. I hope to see you sometime soon.
-
I talked to Mike and he's got a ride thought out. Should be a good time.
-
When I talked to Mike a couple of weeks back , he didn't have a plan yet.
I knew something would happen.
Hope for good weather.

Just a heads up, the store across from TWoS was busted for selling beer to a minor a couple of weeks ago, and at the COG RWTW rally they were not allowed to sell beer, so if you want some adult beverages you will either go to Dahlonega, Helen or Murphy TN if you don't bring your own.
Jenny just texted me, the store is back to selling beer again :thumb: and they have a large walk in cooler too
I plan on being there Friday afternoon.
Saturday morning I am riding to Tellico Plains for lunch at the Tellico Plains bakers, great food and desserts http://tellico-grains-bakery.com/
I have eaten there on a number of occasions. It is a great ride going up 60 to 68 into Tellico Plains then I will head west and go through Reliance back to 76 then back to hwy 60 to Suches.
Tellico Plains is also at the beginning of the Cherohala Skyway, a great ride over to Robbinsville
Anybody want to join me let me know, I will be leaving TWoS around 9am in the brisk 61 temps

That sounds like a sweet ride, I might go. I'm not bringing a lot of beer this year. Still have a bunch of stitches to deal with. Doesn't look like I'll be eating steak either.
-
The building that Riders Hill had is a brewery for Mead if you like that sort of thing. Another option for going down the mtn. AND there is a stoplight on 60 on the way up from rockpile.
-
I am heading up from st pete thursday. With the red ride and green algae it will be good to get away from the stinch of dead sea life everywhere. My dad and some of his pals are coming down from east tenn.
-
Gonna show up for a second time, hopefully Thur. Looking like a bit of a rainy weekend. Rain gear a must and I put new tires on so I am good for the wet! At least it might be a chance of a drier ride home?
-
I wanted to go to the rally this weekend but I just have to much going on at work. So I wont be going.
I put my name down on a list for a cabin and I just got a call from TWO Suches that a cabin is available. Im at the top of the list so if you want a cabin give them a call.

I had at least 6 names in front of me for a cabin about 3 weeks ago.
Got the call today, cabin #7 available. Lisa and I secured it for Friday and Saturday night :thumb:
-
the red light on hwy. 60 north of stone pile has been removed. went by tuesday
-
The store is again selling beer
-
If all goes to plan, I'll be up tomorrow, may stop at the Mead brewery.
-
Where's everyone, I'm camping green tarp and blue one over V7. Guess I will drink till it's time to pass out.
-
Well, I was about to leave to head up that way from Lilburn, but the battery is not cooperating. May not be able to fix it in time to get up there this weekend.
-
Some late night tinkering, but I’m up and running and headed to Suches this morning.

We all just got back from a ride, left at 10am. Crazy good roads here in North Georgia!

There was a surprise guest showed up w/no one was there, everyone was out riding when Jim Hamlin stopped by. He had just left w/I got back Sat noontime. Got hammered on Mead, good stuff and only 2 bottles. Sorry no pics

Got home around 5pm today. 465 miles of mostly curves.
A great gathering with stellar guzzisti. Guzzi Steve, Wayn Orwig and the gang..
Followed Don and his smooth lines on a second run after the main Guzzi ride Saturday.
He rides in a "spirited" fashion. Lots-o-fun!!

I guess I was the "no one" Jim spoke with! A guy walked up to me and said "you're the only guy I see with a Moto Guzzi T-shirt so I thought I would ask where all the Guzzi people are."
I was pretty much palms up at that point. "Beats me - I'm wondering the same thing myself."
He introduced himself, said he was a dealer in Connecticut and we had a good conversation - even covered Motus briefly but don't get me started on that...anyway, Jim was very personable and I enjoyed our brief conversation. I'd buy a bike from him, given the opportunity. Really nice guy who knows bikes.

Yesterday before I got out of TWO I was talking to Bill the owner about the capacity of the grounds. I mean it's on the list nationally of grounds that are the best. He said he could handle more than 300, then they can expand into another 35 acre field where cars park now. Also in the conversation was that field used for bike games if needed, he seemed agreeable to that idea also. I told him the place would be ideal for a National, he liked that idea.
If you go there, make sure there is no bicycle race going on.

Hey, hope you all got home okay! I got home 5:30, too funny, beautiful ride except for the last 20 of 420 miles of thunder storms and torrential rain!
Fri. I followed Jerry on a ride to Helena. Oct fest in Sept?? cute town and wonderful beer/food!!
Sat. Rode to Tellico Plains, startus interuptus half way there at gas station, did get it started and continued. Found the tiny local airport was having a fly-in, advertised free food?? $7.50 pulled pork, good way to draw in the crowds. 315/30 back to 64/68/60. I had luck no issues with pedal bikers!! Boy Sunday had tons of them heating up 19 as I LEFT TOWN!!!!
Jerry (Cognostigater) Thanks for the fire wood Sat. nite. It was lots of fun! Found my chair bag.
Hope get to come back next year. It is a pretty loose, fun, get together and a great camp site!!!

I rode up Thursday and met an old friend of mine. We then went to the motel i reserved. Friday morning we went to Dahlonega and got gas. My bike wouldn't start. Called Guzzisteve and he made a call to Dave or Mike? Anyway, they came to my rescue within 10 minutes. They helped find a battery that fit the Norge just right. Total down time was an hour and ten minutes. My old friend commented, wow, these Guzzi guys are a really good group of guys. Dave and Mike, you made a really good impression on my Harley friend. And thanks a bunch for your help.
