We were supposed to go to the Smoky Mountains, but it was raining raining raining there - so, we went West.
The Cali was in the shop for a warranty fix for a leaky oil cooler - so we loaded up the trusty Yamaha and off we went.
The weather in and around Rapid City was mid 50's in the mornings and around 80 degrees each day. Mostly clear, blue skies.
Near Wall, SD - we saw a boy walking his Dino

And then, this 80 foot Dino

And then a trip thru the Badlands

Thru and around Sturgis

Then to Mount Rushmore and to Crazy Horse - then west out thru Wyoming to The Devil's Tower

Beautiful pictures! Hope you had a chance to do some hiking.
Tell that kid to throw Dino a bone!

Looks like if one of those Dinos jump in front of you like a deer at least you might be able just to ride under it. Sure would hate to hit it's poop pile in a blind curve however.

Funny, just back from a trip where we passed most of these places, on a rented Yamaha, Dino 1 is from Carhenge, Nebraska, cool place

We fix that same loop 4 years ago. Great trip!!!!

I spy bubble shields, very retro, and useful :bike-037:

Hmmmmm, my first stop at Crazy Horse was in 1972. Interesting how little its changed. At this rate it will take a couple more centuries to complete.

We really like those bubbles. They're from "Biltwell"
...and the heavy tint keeps the sun off the face so we don't need sunscreen.

We was just there a couple days ago, spent two days riding around and seeing the sights. Interesting part of the world. They're chipping away at Crazy Horse with hand tools, one track air chisel, and one bucket truck with a grapple. Two hundred years, I estimate, they've been at it for 70 already. A testament to human commitment...
